Artist’s Statement

I approach my work with a sense of responsibility to the viewer and myself. I strive for

excellence by combing technique and subject matter to form, hopefully, unique and provocative

works that evidence both thought and quality of expression.

Experience

2006 – present Cowley Fine Art Gallery South Haven, MI

President/Owner-Artist

Represent over 100 regional artists.

Review and approve art selection.

Responsible for all business related to the operation of the gallery including contracts,, transactions,

advertising, publicity, and exhibitions.

Responsible for the gallery web site (www.cowleyfineart.com) including content and all business

relative to the site.

2002 – 2005 Primary – The One For Solutions Chicago, IL

Co-Owner/Artistic Services Director

Responsible for designing and implementing corporate identity packages.

Conceived all interior decorating for clients’ offices, including custom art work.

Created logos for corporate identity as well as business cards, stationary and other publications

for all the clients’ needs.

1992 – 2002 Maximus Gallery, Inc. Flossmoor, IL

President/Owner-Artist

Produced several exhibitions between 1992 and 2000, representing up to 13 artists.

Responsible for all publications and publicity- including press releases.

Created and designed an internet gallery (www.maximusgallery.com) which featured custom art-

work, and several services including portraiture, interior design and staging.

Created a mail order catalog consisting of twenty -two limited edition reproductions by 10 pro-

fessional artists.

Teach a range of students from beginning to advanced in drawing, painting and portraiture.

Emphasize color, form, technique, and perspective via live draws, portraits, still life and

landscapes.

Mediums used are oils, pastels, acrylics and charcoals.
