PROJECTS
Fuel Cell Powered Smart Home Using Smart Energy Management Control System supported
by the Department of Energy, August 2005 May 2007
In this project, my responsibility was to develop new power electronic circuits and control
algorithms for Fuel Cell Powered Systems. In a team work, we conducted experiments on a 5 kW
Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Power Plant assisted with internal batteries to satisfy
the power demands of a laboratory home which is constructed and equipped with all standard
electric appliances. In addition, I was responsible for designing and modeling real world power
electronic interfaces along with its necessary control algorithms for Fuel Cell/Ultra-capacitor
Hybrid Vehicles in MATLAB and SimPowerSystems environment.
A PEM Fuel Cell Power Conditioner Design Project for Stand Alone Operation, Senior
Project, Fall 2004 - Spring 2005
In this project, my responsibility was to design a power electronic circuit for utility interactions of
Fuel Cell power sources. I modeled a PEM Fuel Cell and designed power electronic circuits to
deliver power for stand alone operation in Pspice environment.
A Computer Aided Design of a Shunt Excited, 22kW, 110V and 1500rpm Direct Current
Machine, the Design of Direct Current Machines course project, Fall 2004
Closed Loop Speed Control of a Permanent Magnet DC Motor Servo System, the Design of
Power Electronic Circuits course project, Spring 2004
