CLINICAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Portland State University Speech and Hearing Sciences Program

Clinical Instructor graduate program: September 2006 present

Instruct and supervise in the clinical education program at Portland State University

Manage the literacy outreach program including: supervision, instruction, coordination of

services, program development, collaboration with teachers and school administrators,

parent education and participation, materials and lesson plans

Coordinate all graduate student teaching practicum including placements, seminar,

supervision, licensing, remediation plans, supervision education, and collaboration with

student teaching supervisors

Act as a director and committee member for culminating projects with a focus on

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Co-developed the Bilingual Concentration for the Portland State University Speech and

Hearing Sciences graduate program

Co-developed an international academic and clinical program in Ecuador designed for

students of speech-language pathology and community members

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION AND ADVOCACY

Co-developed a collaboration proposal and action plan for the SPHR program at Portland

State University and Portland Public School-based Speech-Language Pathologists. The

plan includes an inter-district, statewide group of School-based Speech-Language

Pathologists working on multiple objectives including development of the role of Speech-

language pathologists in school based response to intervention programs

Co-developed the Speech-Language Pathologists Advocating for Bilingualism in Oregon

(SABOR) group. The group s objectives include: Advocacy, information exchange,

development of materials, promoting research, program development, and education

GRANTS AND RESEARCH

Development of a community-based, interdepartmental course to prepare graduate

students in the Portland State University Speech and Hearing Sciences graduate program

to develop expertise in assessing and serving bilingual populations

Autism under the direction of Amy Donaldson, Ph.D.
