Computational Analysis of Thermo-Fluidic Characteristics of a Carbon Nano-Fin (Sponsor: DARPA) Jun. 2007 - Present

Evaluated the performance of carbon nanotubes as nano -fins.

Researched the interfacial thermal resistance between carbon nanotube and coolants.

Explored the effect of chemistry, polymer chains and molecular structure on the interfacial thermal resistance.

Studied the mechanism of heat transfer at the interface.

Performed MD simulations using LAMMPS.

Flow Boiling on Horizontal Heaters coated with Carbon Nanotubes (Sponsor: ONR) May 2008 - Oct. 2008

Conducted experiments on bare horizontal heaters and those coated with carbon nanotubes.

Studied the effect of flow rate and sub -cooling on heat flux enhancement.
