Project: First Article Qualification of Cast Duplex SS Choke body for Oil and Gas industry
We were working on the body of a 1-ton single-piece Duplex Stainless Steel Choke Valve Casting used in the
upstream side of Oil and Gas industry in Sub Sea applications (expected to withstand sub-zero temperatures,
exposure to seawater and oil at rated pressure of 5,000 psi to 10,000 psi.)
First Article Qualification was required to validate the change in manufacturing process from forging and welding
to casting
My responsibilities included
Observe all and perform parts of the FAQ procedure
Performing Destructive and Non Destructive tests.
Analyze the results of the tests and give input on the result
