Tom Schubert Resume

Tom Schubert’s formative years were spent in the Rocky Mountain west where his family enjoys an historic heritage including fur traders, miners, cattle ranchers, and then prominent business leaders instrumental to the early settlement of what is now northern Colorado. Raised in a working class family, Tom was exposed to the air-conditioning trades early. His Father, Ron Schubert, owned and operated HVAC contracting businesses first in Ft. Collins and then later in Rifle Colorado. While his fathers apprentice, Tom began his training while working on many local marquis projects including the construction of the Rifle High School where Tom would finish his primary education, as well as the construction of the Garfield County court house immediately following his graduation.

In 1984, during a recession that hit the western slope of Colorado particularly hard, Tom and much of his immediate family relocated to Texas. There they joined a group of friends and associates that had earlier ventured to San Antonio to form an MEP contracting firm. Tom chose the Austin area as his home and traveled to work on projects around central Texas which included the construction of the San Antonio Convention Center, the Bell County Exposition center, an Air Force base barracks renovation, a Saengerrunde Hall remodel, and many other commercial projects.

In the years following the dissolution of that San Antonio firm, Tom worked in foreman positions for many of Austin’s respected commercial mechanical contractors with projects too numerous to list. Meanwhile, he attended night school at Austin Community College and focused on acquiring the business, engineering, and trade specific skills necessary for continued success in his chosen profession.

In 1994, Tom became the field supervisor for one of Austin’s largest mechanical contractors, and later was promoted to project manager. During his tenure there he was responsible for several hundred of Central Texas’ most prominent commercial projects including a few for one of its customers then, HHCC, Inc. In 2001, Tom joined Sean Cockrell at his start-up company Triton Mechanical and managed that company’s work load until 2005 when Tom solicited HHCC to acquire it’s assets and personnel to create the new HVAC division that remains there today.

Tom now leads an HVACR division that benefits from a strong core group of dedicated professionals with a deep field of experience in commercial and residential HVACR contracting and service. Tom specializes in design-build projects, both commercial and residential, offering customers a level of knowledge, experience, attention to detail, and customer support that is unsurpassed.
