Verizon - A Wireless, Greenville, NC 2011 2012

Director of Marketing

o Director of Marketing of a Verizon Premium Retailer with 125 stores in 12 states. Responsible for

development and execution of marketing plans, advertising, creative production, PR, promotions,

collateral, budgeting & forecasting, direct mail, in-store merchandising, website and social media.

o Created a 2011 Black Friday marketing campaign that set a new single day sales record in the

company s 15-year history. Sales for Black Friday weekend were also a company record.

o Celebrated the company s 15-year anniversary with a company-wide Facebook contest, in-store

parties, giveaways, and consumer Anniversary specials.

o Coordinated our Presenting Sponsorship program for the David Garrard Charity Golf Tournament in

conjunction with Beau s Buddies Cancer Fund. We presented $15,000 to Beau s Buddies.

PA MediaMarketing, Cary, NC 2007 2011

Consultant

o Director of Marketing for a national debt consolidation company. Developed marketing strategy for

new brand identity and website introduction. Produced successful lead generation programs using

interactive, social media, SEO, public relations and traditional media outlets. Created and

implemented PPC Adwords campaign running on Google, Yahoo & Bing. New client signup goal was

reached within 60 days. Managed advertising and public relations agency to meet stated marketing,

o Consulted for top national retailer A.C. Moore on Top Ten Market media planning & buying.

Raleigh/Durham market by 50% in a two-year period. This was accomplished via cause-related

marketing and PSA campaigns on local TV, radio, newspaper and websites.

o Led all media activity for a national $40 million ad agency. Billings increased 300% from $10 to $40

million over a two-year period. Supervised a staff of nine; a 300% increase.

o Generated over $1 million in new business billings from Dollar Tree (a 3,000+ store national retailer)

by developing a more efficient and effective media buying strategy than that being used by their

national NYC media buying service. Program increased comparable store sales by seven times ROI

vs. non-supported stores. After pilot, media billings increased 433% to $12 million

o My analysis of a PGA TOUR sponsorship resulted in BB&T Bank retaining us to manage their

complete portfolio of sports sponsorships including; collegiate sports, minor & Major League

Baseball, NBA, and NFL. Brokered association with Richard Childress Racing resulting in the

sponsorship of the Clint Bowyer #2 BB&T car.

o On Executive Management Team leading and presenting a new business effort resulting in $4 million

in incremental billings in 2001.

o Created and executed inaugural Hispanic marketing program for CARQUEST, a national auto parts

retailer. Program executed in Top 12 US Hispanic markets increasing sales in this neglected market.

o Directed a staff of five in development and implementation of national, regional and local media

programs for 12 different clients and brands.

o Awarded the 2002 Media Plan of the Year by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America for

our work for Morningstar Mini-Storage.

o Directed and managed growth of a $20 million media buying department of 12 employees to $120

million over a ten-year period. Managed, implemented and tracked all media purchases for all

agency clients.

o Identified upscale golf enthusiasts as an untapped target market for both Audi and Royal Caribbean

Cruise Lines. Developed and implemented a sports sponsorship program on PGA Senior Tour events.

o Lone TV negotiator for all national network and cable television purchases. Accountable for over $60
