EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE;

A position in Biomedical Engineering or Clinical Engineering that takes advantage of my extensive managerial and technical background in healthcare.

EXPERIENCE:

Summary: 30 years in Clinical Engineering in a Management Position.

10 years concurrent experience as Director of Telecommunications.

April 2005 to Present. Director, Biomedical Engineering Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital.

Responsibilities include:

Hiring, training, and employee evaluations.

Budget preparation and fiscal responsibility

Project Management

Committee Memberships ( EOC, Culture of Service, Emergency Management, Space Planning, Capital Equipment)

JCAHO and CMS Inspections

While assigned to BBBC/BHH BBMC the facilities increased in size by pproximately 33 percent and the Heart Hospital more than doubled their capacity of high end procedures. In my position I was personally involved in all of these projects.

Since 2005 I have represented BBMC and BHH in multiple JCAHO and CMS inspections with no deficiencies noted. FTE turnover was limited to 1 individual in 10 years and was due to family matters.

Jul 2001 to April 2005 Biomedical Engineering, Maricopa Integrated Health System.

Overall responsibility for the Operation of the Biomedical equipment department for a 550 bed Hospital, a Psychiatric Hospital, 13 large Family Health Care Centers, and approximately 15 other clinics and facilities. Responsibilities include responsibility for hiring and training staff, preparation for JCAHO Surveys, and department budget.

Jul 1986-Jul 2001 Clinical Equipment Manager, ServiceMaster, West Management Services

Director of Clinical Engineering and Telecommunications assigned to Phoenix Memorial Hospital, Phoenix AZ from 1990 to 2001. I was assigned as the account manager for the startup of this very difficult assignment. ServiceMaster was selected to replace existing competition at the facility. After two years and 4 managers, they were notable to get their program off the ground. The existing department was not

accepted or respected by other hospital departments. This situation was corrected during the first year leading to a vertical sale of Plant Operations Management. Sales of Housekeeping and Food Service followed.

The account was awarded "Tour and Reference" status by ServiceMaster resulting in part of sales of new business in Kingman AZ and Las Vegas NV.

Two technicians from this account were promoted to Department Managers/Directors at other ServiceMaster facilities.

During my time at Phoenix Memorial I was nominated for several ServiceMaster awards and won the Management Control Award for fiscal control.

Responsibilities in Telecommunications grew to include 11 sites with different systems.

An evaluation of equipment and services was performed resulting in the replacement of all equipment with one central system. The savings from reconfiguring the system ($800,000 over 7 years) paid for almost of all of the new equipment. Responsibilities in Telecommunications included the PBX Operators, Technical Staff, budget, and coordination with vendors.

July 1986-March 1990: Startup of the ServiceMaster Clinical Equipment Management account at Missoula Community Medical Center, Missoula MT. New services included the development and implementation of Radiology and Clinical Laboratory equipment maintenance. The manufactureraaiais service contracts in these areas were reduced to near zero during the first year of the program saving the hospital more than $100,000 per year.

The account was named a "Tour and Reference" facility for new customers. Additionally 5 new managers were sent to the facility for training resulting in my being nominated for ServiceMaster's People Development Award
