Manage the safe day to day operation of a crew that maintains travel ways, water pumps, mine de-water projects, rock dusting, MSHA compliance, tube bundle and nitrogen placement, seal maintenance, and other projects out by of the production areas in a longwall coal mine. I planned and assisted in the execution of short and mid-term planning as well as worked closely with all aspects of daily and quarterly safety training for my crew and shift.

Safety and Training Specialist
Work closely with MSHA on inspections and citation management, I helped audit crew safety meetings, assisted in quarterly refresher training as an instructor. Maintained and improved a database for our SCSR storage and caches, including quarterly inspections and inventory. Completed weekly mine examinations, including bag samples and seal maintenance, air quality and quantity checks. Lead several ICAM and MAPP programs for employees and staff after incidents occurred. I was responsible for taking injured miners to clinic and following up with reports. Trained miners in behavior and competency based training.

I was responsible for the safe daily operation of a CM coal production section. I helped to organize and implement daily plans for the most effective mining and roof bolting possible. My crews were among the safest and the top producing miners at San Juan Coal.

Mined a 200-foot daily average for over a one-month period I a gate road.
