My resume will show chronologically my progress over the years in improving my
marketable skills. I am currently seeking an Associate’s degree at Muskegon Community
College. I have selected my course of study in Marketing and Sales Management. Human
Relations, Self Esteem, Team Building, Performance Management, and Communication
and Leadership Styles are some of the current topics covered. I do plan to stay in some sort
of study and/or t raining throughout the remainder of my career.

needed qualifications necessary to be successful at most entry-level positions and have the

Background brief: Over many years, I have dedicated my activities toward not only my
own interest, but also the interests of others. I have had striven to achieve my best even
t hough there were many obstacles and barriers to overcome. When i t was not possible for
me to attend college, I used the library. When it was not possible for me to work, I entered
some sort of t raining program or college. I feel my career selection has placed me in an
a rena of an ongoing learning process. I realize this will be necessary to retain employment
i n my selected field of studies.
In 1975 to 1976 I was supervisor over the summer youth work crew of 13 youths in the
Neighborhood Improvement Program at Nairobi Vocational Maintenance where I
supervised the Basic Home Repair Crew for senior citizens in East Palo Alto California.
I also have prior experience as supervisor over the Wire Section of Electrical
Communications Shop in the US Army for 2 years at Fort Knox Kentucky. After I left the
A rmy in 1980, I worked as security officer in Muskegon, Michigan, and served as
L ieutenant of Security over three security officers there that covered three shifts at Bay
V iew Towers for 1 year.
I a lso have work experience as maintenance worker in 1985, where I became the
M aintenance Supervisor over a crew of at least 9 summer youths at Har tford Terrace in
1986 along with the regular work crew of two maintenance workers there. I t ransferred to
C ity Hall Maintenance during the years, 1986 to 1991. This will conclude most of my
experience in the maintenance/supervisor category.
T he course of study, Marketing and Sales Management, represents over thi r ty years of
personal studies involving both marketing, and research analysis online, and offline on my
own. Much of what I have learned is not available, or is achievable at the associate’s level. I
have created several models, and modeled prototyped small groups of young people that
have proven my leadership capabilities and experiences. Where most will make excuses, I
create solutions. I have learned through hands on leadership and development experiences
t hat empowerment spurns discipline, honesty, and t rust, and thus lessens the possibility of
damages, disciplinary actions, and liabili ties.
M y resume will show an up to date history of my work experience along with current
education level achieved. These deliverable assets will prove me to have the qualifications to
become a very important asset to any company at entry level, and beyond entry level.
