Request -- demonstration of going above and beyond normal job expectations. 1995 Executive
Commendation and corresponding monetary award for successful efforts associated with the
Technical Specification Upgrade Program -- demonstration of perseverance, leadership,
courage, change management and ingenuity. Efforts resulted in the following: re-
establishment of Dresden/Quad Cities common Technical Specifications; incorporation of a
significant number of line-item improvements to the license; elimination of many
unnecessary and costly surveillances and tests; modernization of several key Limiting
Conditions for Operation and associated Action requirements. These efforts were achieved
with minimal contract support and during periods of severe regulatory challenge to both
Dresden (Troubled plant list) and Quad Cities (Adversely trending list) that ultimately
resulted in significant cost savings to the company (>$1,000,000). 1995 Executive
Commendation for efforts associated with Zion Appendix J Notice of Enforcement Discretion -
- demonstration of boundaryless behavior and expedited results. Efforts resulted in the
continued operation of both Zion units during a period of extreme electric grid usage and

associated with Reactor Vessel Level Instrumentation (RVLIS) negotiations with the NRC --
demonstration of leadership, negotiation skills and courage to do-the-best-thing in face

receiving license amendments for the RVLIS issue. The resultant changes were implemented
in a manner that demonstrated World Class behavior for eliminating potentially unstable
plant conditions. 1990 Executive Commendation and 400 shares of ComEd stock for efforts
associated with Core Monitoring Code software program installation project --
demonstration of perseverance, leadership, project management, contract management and
software verification and validation skills. Efforts were completed such that current
plant reactivity maneuvers at LaSalle and Quad Cities can be planned and predicted in a
more controlled manner. Efforts also resulted in cost savings during plant startups by
more accurately predicting thermal power distribution within the reactor. Code has been in
place since 1986.Pete L Piet
