CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Private Practice, San Diego, California, 1992 - present:
Extensive continuing education and experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, endodontics, surgical implantology, soft tissue management, comprehensive treatment planning, case presentation, sleep dentistry, practice management, and customer service.
BUSINESS OWNERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT Strategic Business Planning:
Exploration and acquisition of three existing private Practices. Merged the groups into a single facility. Grew the organization from approximately $200,000 annually to over $2,200,000 within a decade then transitioned out of the organization to pursue other practice venues.
Demographic and marketing expertise. Developed mathematical analyses to explore the effect of reduced fee PPO plan participation.
Instituted strict management of Accounts Receivables and cash flow by incorporating sound business management, clear collections policies, and alternative Patient Financial Arrangements
Practical training in employment law, business taxation and budgeting.
My greatest success has been integration of computer systems and technology into the Practice. Accuracy and case acceptance improved dramatically by use of these tools.

Arranged speakers on special topic with particular emphasis on organized dentistry and practice management. Lecturers included accountants, bankers, certified financial planners, practice management consultants, and practice brokers. Lectures helped enhance students` education in practical aspects of the profession.
Special project: In concert with the CDA representatives from the other four California dental schools, lobbied for passage of California Assembly Bill 2956, which would allow dental students to work as hygienists.

Assisted J.O. Archambeau, M.D., F.A.C.R., on research project undertaken in conjunction with Beckman Research Institute, City of Hope. Conducted literature search and review. Designed computer model to demonstrate three-dimensional structure of dermal capillaries. Developed original procedures to model radiation damage using resin castings of microvasculature. Designed and installed an on-line tutorial for medical residents to learn how to use Med-Line to access the National Library of Medicine.
