CAREER OBJECTIVES: Position as a Field Engineer or Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Technician that will allow me to utilize my technical experience and knowledge in an organization where my abilities and skills are utilized to their maximum potential.

About me: I consider myself a multidisciplinary, out or in the box thinker and analytical problem solver. I have worked and excelled in many different disciplines from six years in machine shops, as an electrician, an electronics technician/troubleshooter, field engineer, design engineer, audio engineer and video engineer. I consider myself well read, articulate and a bit of a computer wizard. I am also ambidextrous with most hand tools.

1989 - Current: Self Employed Owner Audio-Video Engineer at Moon Productions & Recording Studio a professionally equipped ProTools based recording studio located just outside Arroyo Grande, CA. The studio has recorded well over 250 CD/Album projects. We have recorded albums and demo’s with local talent, professional musicians and producers as far away as New York to Hawaii, all over California and Arizona. I have written, produced and recorded music beds and voiceovers for local and regional TV, radio spots, on-hold corporate phone messages, motivational speakers, local lawyers, police departments, California Men's Colony, various audio books and recorded sound effects for “The Hollywood Edge” SFX Library. I have also recorded sound effects and music beds for local video houses. In the past I have recorded and or worked on albums at Sutton Sound Studios in Atascadero, CA and Sound Design out of Santa Barbara, CA. Throughout my audio career I have worked with nearly every analog and digital file format known from dictation/phone machine mini-cassette, cassette, reel to reel 1/4" to 2", DAT, Mini-Disc, Alesis ADAT, .aiff, .Sound Designer II, .BWF (.wav), MPEG (all formats), Quicktime etc. In video I can import, edit and render to Final Cut Pro from Mini DV, MPEG (all formats), DVD, SDHC, VHS, VHS-C, 3/4” VTR’s, Hi-8 and old 8 mm film, edited/transferred to DVD and VCD formats. Have worked with HD and SD formats and am familiar with most codec’s used in FCP. The studio was designed, built and engineered by me. I installed all A/C, audio video cables and associated. Sole troubleshooter of all electronic equipment and the five computers to component levels.

Own and use Office:mac suite software functional with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

I can become fully fluent in nearly any software for Mac or PC. I have taught and trained students for Audio Engineering through “Recording Connection School” and have taught students Final Cut Pro, one of the most complex software programs designed. As an owner of a small business I have also hired and trained outside help for some of our larger projects.

1988 - 1993 SPAR, Commercial Telecommunications Santa Maria, CA Electronic Test Technician/Field Engineer, bench test, troubleshoot and repair digital and analog circuit boards for use in leading edge TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) satellite telecommunications systems. Tested associated AC/DC Power Supplies and repaired when necessary, Tools used: multi-meters, oscilloscopes, PC computer's, various hand tools, mill-spec soldering. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction. Designed and built jigs for consistent scale wiring harnesses used in assembly department per mechanical drawings.

1986 - 1988 Allied Bendix USAF Space Shuttle Program

Field Engineer/Team Leader for the USAF Space Shuttle security system, red lined drawings for EMT and explosion proof conduit runs in every facility, North base and SLK 6. Installed, BMS switches, infrared detectors, modems, junction boxes, step down power transformers, pulled cable and installed associated wiring and AC/DC power supplies. Tools used: Various hand tools, conduit pipe benders both hand and mechanical, multi-meters, hammer drills. Carried secret clearance.

1985 - 1986 Unisys Corp.

Electronic Technician - Field Engineer for USAF Minuteman Missile training systems. Built entire system, integrated wiring harnesses and circuit board creation from system schematics, tested all electronics involved and trouble shot all components. Installation and integration of entire system including installing software, associated components and wiring harnesses used in a missile silo. Tools used: multi-meters, oscilloscopes, computer‘s, various hand tools, mil-spec soldering, read blueprints. Carried secret clearance.

1982 - 1985 U.S. Navy Aviation Electricians Mate E4

Flight deck troubleshooter maintain electrical/electronic systems for HS-12 Helicopter Anti Submarine Warfare Squadron. Passed all AEA courses received Letter of Appreciation for BEE school other schools included pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

1975 – 1981 Machinist for SIMCO, Piper Aircraft and Mafi-Trench all located in Santa Maria, CA. Set-up and operation with OD grinders, drill presses, lathes, vertical and horizontal mill from blueprints. Used Micrometers, scales, dial indicators, radius gauges and hand tools.

SKILLS: Systems field engineer, team leader, wiring, Mil-Spec soldering, digital – analog circuit board troubleshooting, electronic/electrical troubleshooting, sheet metal fabrication, 19” rack mount equipment resign, surface mount electronics, ambidextrous with hand tools, problem solver, Recording Connection Instructor. EDUCATION: H/S Graduate, some college, US Navy AEA Technical Training Schools.

Equivalent education to an AS degree from various disciplines, classroom and on the job experience.
