Job History / Details:

Edwin Donohoo, Former President / CEO, Precision Steel, LLC

October, 2012

Most recently, I, served as President / CEO of Precision Steel, a steel fabrication company in Calvert City, KY. I was with the company for over ten years and served in a variety of capacities since joining it in 2002. Starting out as the Sales and Marketing Director / Assistant Operations Manager for 2-1/2 years I was promoted to Vice President / General Manager in October of 2004. After two years I was promoted to President and then in October 2007 I was elevated to President / CEO. For most of my time at Precision, I was responsible for overall operations and management of the $18 million organization. Precision Steel, LLC is a non-union, full service steel fabrication company which peaked employment in 2007 at 129 and performed projects for companies all over the eastern half of the United States.

During my tenure at Precision Steel, the company experienced six consecutive years of revenue growth from $2.6MM to over $18MM and only declined the past few years due to the economic recession. We made significant improvements in processes and equipment over the years and employment grew from 20 to 129. The facility was awarded the Marshall County Industry of the Year award for 2008. Under my leadership, the company achieved 10 years without a lost time accident, consistently had EMR ratings under 1.0, and many positive work place changes were made through the use of behavior based safety and job hazard analysis.

My experience in the steel industry began with the Ohio River Steel Company (which was later purchased by North Star Steel (A Cargill company), now Gerdau Steel), a structural steel mini-mill, in 1983 as a construction management clerk. In the ensuing 19 years, I rose through the ranks, holding various positions of increasing responsibility most of which reported to the plant manager. After a 12 year stint as the Quality Assurance & Technology Manager, in 1999 I was appointed Material Management Superintendent handling production planning, raw material purchasing, finished goods inventory, and shipping.

My work experiences include: retail sales, outside sales & marketing, production planning, quality assurance, human resources, shipping, materials control, contract negotiation, budgetary management, estimating, project management, and long-range strategic planning. I value integrity, business ethics, customer service, growing people, and a healthy work / life balance.

In addition to a BS Degree in Construction Engineering Technology and an AS degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Murray State University, during my career, I have earned the American Society for Quality Certifications as certified quality manager and quality auditor. I earned a Master`s Degree in the Management of Technology from the Univ. of Phoenix Online and Murray State University in 2007.

I graduated from the Marshall County Leadership class of 1992, earned an extension diploma from the Materials Engineering Institute in metallurgy in 2000 and have been active in community activities, including coaching soccer and baseball, and serving on the Benton, Ky. City Council from 1999-2003. I participated in the Central Fabricators Association and am currently very active in the Central Church of Christ as a worship leader, and as a shepherd/elder of the congregation. My wife Mitzi teaches third grade at Benton Elementary. Mitzi and I have two children. Our son Sawyer is a graduate of Murray State University and teaches middle school history and coaches high school basketball; our daughter Shelby is in her second year of nursing school at West Ky Community and Technical College. Our family loves spending time with each other, traveling, and being involved in our church.
