GRANTS/RESEARCH
1999- 2005: Assisted in the writing of the GEAR-UP Grant, which was funded for 2.3
million dollars over a period of seven years. As chair of the teacher education program I
also assist in implementing said grant, and serve on the Advisory Board for the
implementation of the grant.
1999: Principal Investigator for a proposed Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers with
Technology grant. not funded
1996 98: Co-investigator in a $75, 000 ALTHE grant for "Advanced Learning Technologies
in Higher Education." Faculty from the College of Education at UIUC, the Department of
Communication at UIS, and the College of Education at UIC propose to create a multi-campus
solution to meet the challenge of preparing teachers to use modern classroom technology.
April 1993- A Comparison of Attitudes and Opinions Relating to Gender of Elementary and
Early Childhood Teachers is an examination of the attitudes, perceptions, and opinions of
education students towards the gender of elementary and early childhood teachers.
