to pay.
2003-2004 Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program- The
McNair program is designed to prepare students from
disadvantaged participants for doctoral studies; The goal of the
McNair Program is to increase graduate degree attainment of
students from underrepresented segments of society) Assisted
faculty at University of Tennessee Health Science Center
(Memphis) in mentoring students who participated in the program.
2001-2003 Hands on Memphis Hands on Memphis (HOM) creates,
manages, and leads hands-on projects that positively impact the
lives of people in need in our community. HOM works with dozens
of local non-profit agencies, community groups and neighborhood
associations. Whether large or small, HOM provides partner
agencies with managed, planned monthly programs led and filled
by committed and trained volunteers.
2004 Youths for Excellence - Pontotoc Second Baptist Church has
recognized the need to acknowledge our youths of excellence,
through whom the community takes pride and comfort in knowing
that established leaders in various fields volunteer their time to
train our children in the skills and knowledge that will be needed
for future success. Participated as presenter at conferences.
2001-2003The Memphis Center for Independent Living- a community based
non-profit organization whose primary mission is to facilitate the
full integration of persons with disabilities into all aspects of
community life. The Center for Independent Living also must
react to the ignorance and stereotypes about people with
disabilities that still exist in our community.
