RESEARCH AND CREATIVE ENDEAVORS
I have national visibility in the cultural foundations of education, and bring that
perspective to work
with colleagues. My undergraduate and graduate study of the philosopher Hegel urges me to
see the
broad context of education, and synthetic relationships among other areas in the field of
education
and other disciplines. In addition, I believe that being a public intellectual willing to
interact with
many others is essential for a philosopher of education. I endeavor to offer
philosophical and
historical perspectives to a variety of forums, including collaboration with colleagues
in engineering,
veterinary science, and the liberal arts.
