Photographer

I am responsible for coordinating, planning and executing daily photo assignments for

publication. This position required me to interview subjects, gather facts and write both

photo captions and short stories. During my time here, I ve lead video and social media

initiatives to reach our community in new ways.

The Bulletin (Summer 2009) Daily Publication Snowden Photo Intern

I was one of three photographers selected from a pool of 60 applicants in the state of

Oregon. I spent three months working in a professional, daily newsroom five days a week.

The internship was paid and I received a two week extension after the scheduled internship

had concluded. Responsibilities included photographing community events, portraits,

architecture, features and high school sports.

The Oregon Daily Emerald (2006-2010) Daily Collegiate Newspaper Photographer, Photo

Editor, Multimedia Editor

I began working at the Emerald as a video intern, compiling two video packages a week. I

was hired as a staff photographer my sophomore year. I worked as the photo editor during

my junior year, managing a staff of five photographers and forming the strategic vision of

the visual content. I moved to the multimedia desk my senior year, turning around two

multimedia packages each week. The 2009 Emerald staff won the Associated Collegiate Press

Pacemaker Award.

Ethos Magazine (formerly KD Magazine) (2007-2008, 2010) Photographer, Photo Editor, Web

Staff

During 2007, I worked as a staff photographer. I served as the photo editor for the

Spring 2008 issue, managing a staff of photographers and preparing their images for print.

In 2010, I worked with the magazine s first web staff to bring the magazine online.

Flux Magazine (2009) Photographer, Writer

I worked to write and photograph my own story. The 2009 staff won the Associated

Collegiate Press s Pacemaker Award in the magazine category.

Skills

I have a strong technical and artistic ability with still and video production equipment.

I m fluent with Adobe Photoshop and have a strong understanding of Adobe s Creative Suite

5. I have a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Audacity, and Soundslides.

I m also fluent in HTML and CSS. I can read and understand some PHP and Javascript.
