As an Electrician aboard the Carl Vinson, I had several responsibilities during my tenure. Started off in the basic lighting and receptacle shop. Responsibilities included troubleshooting, repair, general maintenance, and installation of 120v lighting and receptacles throughout the ship. Then moved on to the Battery shop learning to test, repair, and maintain batteries for several uses throughout the ship. Including the Captains Barge and Admirals Gig. After the Battery shop, I went to the Auxiliary/Ordinance shop. Here I trouble shot, repaired, maintained, and/or replaced: Aircraft elevators, Aircraft Electrical service stations, deck edge doors, as well as other vital equipment. While serving in the USN, I pulled a rank of 3rd class Petty Officer, and had as man as 5 men under my supervision. The end of my tenure concluded after we returned from "Operation Enduring Freedom", the result of 9/11.
