Project Description
Service Fund is an accounting application that controls provider
reimbursement for managed care products through: (a) provider capitation
payment, (b) control of claims payment - pay, encounter, suspend or reject,
(c) claims expensing, and (d) reconciliation (settlement).
It is one of Legacy systems in Humana which was mostly in maintenance mode
for years. Because of increase in HMO business and Service Fund being key
system in maintaining HMO membership to reimburse gated providers, Humana
Inc. is focusing on modernization of this system. To achieve this, number
of enhancements has been made to the system.
Key Projects:
. Lead the PPO/PFFS project to create 26 new batch cycles to mirror
existing HMO cycles in Service Fund to enable risk deals similar to
HMO for PPO/PFFS members. This was one of the biggest/complex projects
where 4000+ components/Jobs were Modified/Created.
. Lead the IDMS to DB2 conversion project to convert existing 7 IDMS
records and 4 ADSO screens to DB2/CICS. This was one of the pilot
projects for IDMS to DB2 conversion.
. Lead the Cariten Acquisition Project to create 5 new batch cycles for
claims expensing and capitation. Completed this project in 3 months
with a team of 5 members.
Responsibilities
< Project planning, estimations and execution of projects from start to
end.
< Understanding business requirements in consultation with the business
user/client and baseline the requirements.
< Schedule/Attend meetings with Business users, offshore team, other
application areas, support teams and development teams.
< Analyzing the requirement and prepare Specifications document and get
sign-off from users and communicate it to offshore.
