. Responsible for development and implementation of overall Wet
Starch operational goals including production, quality,
safety, GMP, maintenance, yield, yield loss, environmental,
and training. Managed operations, training, and maintenance

functional groups to meet plant and profitability goals
including Refinery, Dry Starch, Chicago Board of Trade,
Logistics, QA-QC, and Accounting.

production rates in a corn wet milling plant - a 24/7
operation. Increased grind rates yearly by identifying and
removing process bottlenecks and troubleshooting operational
issues on a continual basis. Achieved the highest yearly
grind 2000- 2004.

unit-related safety incidents, as well as implementing plant
policies and procedures, training operators, developing
preventive maintenance schedules, and initiating capital
improvement projects to prevent past and future occurrences.

. Yield - Responsible for meeting and exceeding plant yield
targets by modifying operational controls, testing new
equipment, or modifying existing equipment. Increased starch
yield from 65.6% to record 68.3% (lbs dry substance/lb of dry
corn) in 2004 resulting in savings of $4MM/yr.
. Yield Loss - Unit-related waste losses were reduced from
$6.0MM in 1995 to $2.9MM in 1997 to $2.3MM in 2002 in spite
of annual rate increases. Yield losses were only 0.88% of
total yield in 2004 - the lowest ever.
. Training - Developed training materials and guidelines to
ensure consistent operation among operators, both
independently and in conjunction with training manager. Gave
classroom process training for new operators and enhancement
classes for existing operators.
. Quality - Used SAP database to download quality and shipping
information into Excel to monitor out-of-code production and
shipping weight data. Developed spreadsheet database for
laboratory and process data to track operational testing and
improvement efforts, as well as general monitoring.
. Hourly - Responsible for 50 hourly union operators which were
reduced to 35 in 2001-2002 timeframe. Involved in all
