Point-of-Use Devices as Incubators of Halogenated Phenol-Mediated Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria:
(PIs-Dr. Terese Olson, Associate Professor and Dr. Nancy Love, Professor, University of Michigan)
Developed a methodology to measure concentration of Disinfection by-products in finished drinking
water using solid phase extraction and derivatization followed by GC-ECD. Developed criteria to
select utilities for water sampling program. Conducted adsorption experiments on powdered carbon
and carbon disks. Currently in charge of the data recording and management, and also performing
free and total chlorine residual analysis on finished drinking water.
Projects Undertaken
Performance Evaluation of fiber based Biofilter for Treatment of Domestic Waste Water:
Kerala State Committee for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE), of the Govt. of
Kerala funded project. Evaluated performance of coir geotextile media and compared it with
conventional sand media in biofiltration process.
Determination of Coefficient of Consolidation: Developed a MATLAB code to determine Coefficient
of Consolidation of soil.
GIS Application in Road Management System for IIT Roorkee Campus: Acquired knowledge of
GeoMedia Professional and GeoMedia Transportation Manager and solved a problem based on them.

Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers Ltd. (MVML) – Roads, Storm Water and Sewerage System Design.
Project Description :
Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers Ltd set up a Vehicle Manufacturing Plant at MIDC - Chakan,
Pune. This facility consists of body shop, engine assembly shop and transaxle shop. Scope of
work included design of roads, storm water drains and sewerage system for entire plant of area,
nearly 300 Hectares.
My Role : Design Engineer, Co-ordinated 2 main projects: Roads and Stormwater and Sewerage
Responsibilities :
Designed various road cross-sections according to service load.
Prepared proposal for project scope and cost.
Designed sewerage system components.
Followed design into field with troubleshooting and technical support.
Verified and sign-off on drawings for both projects.
