I am writing in response to online job postings I found with your company. I am currently considering a
move to TN and as this would be a big move for me, I am seeking solid employment before I move and am
hoping to find it with a company that would make a move to a new state seem beneficial. My hope is to find a
real opportunity and be given a chance based on my past work experience in the automotive/manufacturing
industry, as well as my willingness to learn, take on responsibility, and tailor my schooling to the advancement
of my career.
I have been the manufacturing industry for over ten years now, nine of which were spent at a rubber
plant making automotive parts. For a little over a year I’ve been at a machine shop making cutting tools. During
this time I have had to learn to operate and maintain many hydraulic presses and CNC machines, I have been
responsible for maintaining high quality standards, and have had to learn to use my knowledge to problem solve
when I haven’t had people around to help me. My time in this industry has taught me a work ethic that I am
very proud of, as well as given me confidence in my ability to learn new things quickly.

At Allied, we make high end cutting blades and holders. I have worked in two departments, running
several different machines in each. I am responsible for the setup and fine tuning of each machine, as well
as constantly monitoring the parts being made in order to make any adjustments needed. I inspect each part
made using several methods, including a simple fitting device, micrometers, and a computer scope that gives
a full readout of the part. I am responsible for my own quality control, as well as maintaining my machine on
my own. I also do paperwork on parts produced and scrap made.

I worked for Robin Industries for almost 9 years. Aside from a short period where I was a trainer I
spent the entire time as a press operator. This job required knowledge of each individual part and how they
run, and knowledge of what variables will affect them in a negative way. A general knowledge of the
hydraulic presses was required to assure proper functioning; however most maintenance work was handled
by the maintenance team. I was responsible for the removal, cleaning, and inspection of each part produced,
as well as the packaging and labeling.
