Recruitment/Retention
Centralized exempt recruiting and hourly staffing under the exclusive guidance of Human Resources
with a 32% reduction in time to fill.
Wrote comprehensive job descriptions and developed salary ranges for 94 salaried/professional
positions including CFO, cost account, several functional engineering positions as well as marketing,
sales, and IT with data provided by hiring managers. All 94 positions were filled within a nine month
period and turnover ratio on those positions remained at approximately 7% for three years.
Implemented pre-employment drug/alcohol/criminal background testing and post accident
drug/alcohol testing resulting in a reduction in second/third shift turnover from 89% to 12%.
Developed and implemented training to supervisory staff in correct methods of interviewing.
Developed and implemented an engineering co-op program which provided a continual source of
qualified students to the research and development department of a Fortune 500 company.
Employee Relations
In collaboration with the management team, wrote and implemented a policy and procedure manual,

Labor Relations/Union Negotiations
Assumed total responsibility for union grievance procedure resulting in reduced legal fees of 83%.
Re-opened union contract to negotiate an increased hourly rate for union employees due to relocation
of facility. During negotiation was able to put in drug/alcohol testing and a criminal background check
on all current employees in trade for a $2.15/hour increase. This enabled the company to terminate
employment of several employees who had been under surveillance for drug use and theft without
getting involved in legal proceedings.
Using open and continual communication with union business agents, successfully negotiated a new
three year contract with medical co-pays from the union labor force for the first time in the history of
the company.
Implemented brown bag lunches, open door policies, performance recognition and other forms of best
practices to acknowledge the employees and their ongoing need for inclusion in order to prevent union
organizing.
Organizational Development/Succession Planning/Employee Development
As a strategic partner within the management team, I have been able to influence team members in
Strategic Planning sessions to:

Developed and implemented a new Performance Appraisal system with appropriated salary ranges for
hourly employees to enable a conversion to a newly designed Pay for Performance system.

Acquisitions – Performed due diligence on benefit plans
Developed and implemented termination packages for plant closings including calculations for final
payouts on 401(k) and pension benefits
Recently audited a defined benefit plan for a Fortune 500 company. With over 10,000 retirees to audit
in this particular plan I determined close to 600 retirees had not been marked as deceased in the
program and 263 of those were still “receiving” benefits. The results have been turned over to legal
counsel for further consideration.
Recently in a corporation of just under 300 employees, I was able to re-design and implement a new
health and welfare program with an annual cost savings of $350,000.00. In the second year of this
program, I was able to negotiate the medical renewal with no cost increase to the company or its’
employees.
Since the beginning of my career in Human Resources, I have been handling all of the benefit meetings
on both the health and welfare and pension/401(k) areas of the corporations I was serving.
Safety/OSHA
Implemented a safety program based on the DuPont’s, Safety Training Observation Program (STOP)
Trained supervisors and kept them up-to-date with weekly 5 minute safety discussion literature to keep
the employees informed on safety
Developed and implemented PPE programs and reimbursement policies for purchase
Implement a new safety program in an HVAC company which significantly reduced the workers’
compensation mod.
