Re: Posting Staff Mechanical Engineer – 57351

Dear Human Resources Representative:

I am in the process of finishing my 3 year Accelerated Development Rotational program with Ingersoll

Rand, and I have been actively following the career postings in the biomedical industry. I could not help

but notice how well my skills aligned with your requirements for the Staff Mechanical Engineer position.

While my attached resume provides a good high level description of my strengths and achievements, I have

also listed a few of your specific requirements with my complimenting experiences:

Requirement: Complimenting Experience:

Accountable for meeting an assigned Value Led 2 cross-functional VA/VE projects. The first project was with a cross-

Engineering yearly targets functional team that designed modular refrigerated display cases resulting in

$120,000 in savings. The second project was a Kaizen event that created

parametric modeling design guides that were leveraged across multiple product

lines. The Kaizen event resulted in first year savings of $15,000.

In addition the engineer will work with vendors Led 3 projects that involved engineers, technicians, manufacturing, sourcing,

on design, tooling and specification changes for marketing, and Industrial Design. Drove supplier selection for 2 VA/VE

value optimization and improvement from the projects discussed above, and 2 electromechanical NPD projects. The battery

beginning until the project is fully implemented pack and display module NPD projects included plastic tooling design and

in manufacturing ultrasonic welding horn design.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining Led a team that successfully implemented sustainable design guides that

project management documentation, leading consisted of document naming conventions, share drive organization, and

involved multi-function team and learning tutorials. With the NPD projects I managed component drawings,

weekly/monthly update of projects progress and materials specifications, and BOMs for projects totaling $3MM+ in first year

target gap revenue.

Demonstrated technical leadership within product In addition to leading VA/VE projects, I led a cross functional

development and engineering electromechanical design project for a display module and battery pack. These

projects included embedded system programming, custom LCD design, and

circuit board layouts.

Experience with engineering manufacturing of Significant plastic mold design for battery pack and display module housing.

metal & plastic components is required Extensive sheet metal design experience while creating refrigerated display

cases.

Proficiency with Pro-Engineer is required; Finite CAD design experience with Pro-Engineer, UG NX4, and Solid Edge. Design

Element Analysis (FEA) experience includes parametric modeling, sheet metal, and plastic design. FEA experience

modeling display lens impact, battery pack impact, and locomotive capacitor

bank strength.

After seeing how well your requirements line up with my expertise, I hope you feel I am one of the

candidates you would like to interview. My schedule is flexible and I would be happy to arrange an

appointment at your earliest convenience. Please feel free to contact me by phone 814-***-****) or email
