THE ALDERWOODS GROUP, Michigan Region 2005- 2006

The Alderwoods Group was the second largest owner and operator of Funeral Homes and

Cemeteries in the United States, until purchased by SCI, the market leader, in December 2006.

Market Growth Manager 2005-2006

Responsible for all activities associated with funeral home operations, customers, staff,

facilities and financial performance across Michigan. Key activities included:

● Building/maintaining At-Need revenue in the market, to drive calls and revenue averages,

Responsible for analyzing data integrity within Oracle 11i ERP Supply Chain and

management of the Item Master. Evaluated contract compliance and utilization patterns

across enterprise. Developed and enhanced Supply Chain Performance metrics and

reporting. Developed and implemented Broadlane Contract Management system reporting

with ability to cross audit savings and reconciliations.

Created, edited and managed life cycle of Item Master additions, changes and deletions

Hospital administrator responsible for enterprise wide Supply Chain activities utilizing Oracle

11i ERP system. Managed Purchasing, Material Control, Warehousing, Distribution,

Transportation, Cath Lab Inventory, Linen and other Materials Management departments.

Led operational functions and deployment of application across all supply chain

departments; redefined business processes and workflows to reflect zero customization goal

for ERP implementation; managed and implemented end-user supply chain modules

enterprise resulting in cost reductions through process improvements and staff reductions.

● Expanded e-commerce activities utilizing electronic order entry, EDI, electronic invoicing,

Hospital administrator responsible for all Materials Management functions.

Led and actively participated in major contract negotiations for supplies, services and

capital covering $250 million annual spend.

● Setup and made operational a 72,000 sq. ft. distribution center, consolidated from two

locations with only a one day service interruption. Managed inventory turnover rates of 18-

22 turns for an annual $40-$50 million inventory throughput.

● Established and managed $2.5 million asset based inventory in the Cath Lab utilizing a

Pyxis supply replenishment system.

● As a shareholder member, represented key member institutions in the establishment

and subsequent renewal of a National Distribution Agreement for VHA & Novation ( GPO ).

● Developed and managed Materials Management annual expense budgets in excess of

$5 million. Forecasted and prepared capital budget requirements for Materials Management

and provided annual hospital budget forecast and preparation data based on market

analysis.

● As a member of the Executive Leadership team contributed to the successful execution

of cost reduction programs spanning multiple fiscal years.

Vice President of Operations – Beaumont Shared Services 1986-1988

( A wholly owned for-profit subsidiary corporation of Wm. Beaumont Hospital ).

Complete P&L responsibility for Warehousing / Distribution operations supplying both Wm.

Beaumont Hospital and sales of Med / Surg supplies to outside customers. Property

management for Northwood Shopping Center (198,000 sq. ft. of retail space with 24

tenants). Flower shop and vending operations with sales in excess of $750,000 annually.
