Responsibilities included teaching and consulting for Business Objects XIR2 and 3.1
reporting for companies such as Cisco Systems, Northern Trust, 5th 3rd Bank, FedEx
and Morgan Stanley. Classes consisted of up to 15 professionals per class and
typically took place on-site for each company. The majority of assignments required
extensive travel.
In addition to teaching and consulting, I was also required to make presentations at
Business Objects User Group meetings and other technical forums.
When not on a customer’s site, responsibilities included design and maintenance of
course manuals and courseware. I was also solely responsible for creating the
Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence and Rich-Client Web Intelligence course
booksand workshop books for the latest Business Objects 3.1 release.

Began working with CARQUEST as a data warehouse support consultant.
Responsibilities have included scrubbing data, maintaining and improving ETL
processes and operational reporting using MicroStrategy reporting tools. Through
promotions I became the administrator for our MicroStrategy projects which includes
over 150 users. I then became involved in the vendor selection process for a new
Enterprise Reporting tool, which lead to the eventual purchase and implementation of
Business Objects Enterprise XI R2. My roles at CARQUEST included Business Objects
Development, Business Objects Administration, MicroStratgey Development,
MicroStrategy Administration, ETL Development and Data Warehouse Support.
Accomplishments:
Managed the conversion of reporting from our MicroStrategy reporting
environment to Business Objects XIR2.
Created a “fact-finding” document for ad hoc reporting requests and all
change requests from the business users in order to standardize the reporting
request process.
Conducted “requirements gathering” for different business units to determine
reporting needs and to provide each individual business unit with a better
understanding of what information and functionality is available through the
corporate data warehouse and enterprise reporting tools.
Worked with data warehouse developers to translate business needs for
specific business units to help facilitate the design and implementation of
business specific data marts to improve reporting production.
Participated in Design and Implementation of four separate Business Objects
Universes.
Developed, Tested and Supported several thousand interactive reports for all
user levels using Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Crystal and
MicroStrategy reporting applications.
Created multiple Performance Management Dashboards for various business
groups within our organization.
Saved CARQUEST a large amount of training overhead by creating and
implementing a Business Objects Knowledge Accelerator Training Program
on our Online Learning Management System for all new users.
Created and presented hands-on, in-class training courses for various levels
BO user levels.
Administrator for MicroStrategy Operational Reporting. Supported reporting
requirements for over 150 licensed users and demand from all aspects of our
