Work History
February 2003 to Present
Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc Jacksonville, FL
Senior Analyst
Develop solutions for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems in a manufacturing plant that
produces medical devices. Provide technical support for critical manufacturing data systems. Perform
computer systems validation in an FDA-regulated environment, including technology transfer, supporting
new products. Participate in requirements gathering, design and risk assessment activities.
Major Projects:
Lead successfully the Legacy Application Absorption project. This project consolidated legacy
applications build using Microsoft NT and Visual Basic 6.0 into the central InSite 3.4 MES
(Manufacturing Execution System) system from CMSTAR, Microsoft web services and Microsoft
ASP.NET. At the completion of this project, the company is realizing cost savings of a million $
every year due to reduction in non conformances and paper.
Lead successfully the Automatic Lens Data Collection System on a Manufacturing Line to
manufacture OASYS contact lens brand. This project facilitated collection of lens data in real time
from the control devices and transporting it to the MES system (InSite 3.4) through middleware
(Archestra 1.5). After the successful launch of this project, the automatic lens tracking system
has eliminated human interference contributing to Electronic DHR efforts. This project facilitated
timely launch of this brand of contact lenses contributing to greater market share of the company
flag ship product.
June 2002 to January 2003
Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc Jacksonville, FL
Software Consultant
As a Technical Lead set up a Lens monitoring system in place to continuously monitor the manufacturing
devices while lens are being manufactured. This was a three tiered web based Application. The challenge
was to integrate data from the PLCs or manufacturing devices to web server. After the successful
deployment of this Application, numerous instances of label mixing were prevented thus directly
contributing to the saving of many thousands of dollars from possible lot mixes, customer dissatisfaction,
and product recalls. The application did not rely on expensive hardware or vision systems to monitor lens
data currently in production, but rather leveraged the existing infrastructure, resulting in savings on
hardware purchases.
May 2001 to February 2002
Key Bank Cleveland, OH
Software Consultant
Developed Prepaid Gift Card Dispute application (or NDC) using Visual Basic and Oracle8i, and
integrated it into an existing Customer Dispute Settlement application. This application records the
customer disputes related to NDC, provides a GUI allowing reps. to settle disputes and print letters, which
are sent to customers. The application relies heavily on stored procedures written using Oracle PL/SQL
language.
April 2000 to May 2001 Corning Optical Fiber Plant Wilmington, NC
Software Consultant
Worked as consultant with the Corning MES team to design and develop an enterprise level system to
track the fiber-making process. This project required collecting the production data from the
manufacturing floor and delivering it to database using Microsoft MSMQ messaging architecture. The
enterprise application uses the Manufacturing Execution System software FactoryWorks for tracking the
process workflow.
