WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduate Research & Teaching Assistant (August 2007 to May 2009)
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA
• Maintained Ship Maintenance, Repair and Operations (SMRO) website
• Conducted experiments in Solid Mechanics Laboratory for undergraduate students
• Test the specimen for failure analysis.
• Judged students’ performance, provided feedback and assigned grades
Production Engineering Intern (January 2006 to July 2006)
Force Motors Limited, Pune, India
• Performed detail study of the existing machining and assembly line of the crown wheel and
pinion in the production engineering department
• Worked to estimate the changes required in the existing set-up to accommodate the new set of
crown wheel and pinion
• Developed the new process planning schedule for crown-wheel and pinion with necessary
changes in operation specification, machines, tools and fixtures
• Generated requirements for new tools and fixtures.
Research and Development Intern (July 2004 to December 2004)
Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited, Mumbai, India
• Part of the R&D team of Security Equipments Division developing TRTL 30X6 safe ( torch
(TR) and tool (TL) attack resisting safe for 30 minutes on all six (6) sides of the safe) for
United Laboratory (UL) specification
• Assigned the task of developing prototypes from the combination of various materials and test
them for the above specification
• Recorded the performance of the prototype subjected to tool and torch attack and submitted a
detail report of the performance
• Succeeded in developing a right combination of materials for the barrier.

FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES
Design and Manufacturing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Reliability Engineering
MASTERS THESIS
Vibration Analysis as a Predictive Maintenance Tool for Rotating Machinery
Worked on development of a predictive maintenance program for rotating machinery. The
machine was run through a set up with accelerometers and spectrum analyzers used to identify
vibration characteristics of machine. This program helped in formulating an accurate predictive
maintenance scheduling for rotating machinery.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Ship Maintenance Scheduling by Genetic Algorithm (January 2009 to May 2009)
Created plan for ship maintenance scheduling to decide start times of maintenance activities that
satisfy all precedence and resource constraints and optimize ship availability using genetic
algorithm. Developed a genetic algorithm to find a perfect schedule for maintenance ‘MatLab’
Language was used for development of the genetic algorithm.
Estimation of Reliability of Television Sets (August 2008 to December 2008)
This project presented an integrated technical model to evaluate the reliability of television sets.
Weibull Distribution and various reliability parameters were used for developing this technical
model.
Cylinder and End Cap Assembly Design and Analysis (January 2008 to May 2008)
Modified and analyzed the cylinder and end-cap assembly at Old Dominion University, using
Nastran and Patran software for finite element analysis .
