MASTERS THESIS

Vibration Analysis as a Predictive Maintenance Tool for Rotating Machinery

Worked on development of a predictive maintenance program for rotating machinery. The

machine was run through a set up with accelerometers and spectrum analyzers used to identify

vibration characteristics of machine. This program helped in formulating an accurate predictive

maintenance scheduling for rotating machinery.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Ship Maintenance Scheduling by Genetic Algorithm (January 2009 to May 2009)

Created plan for ship maintenance scheduling to decide start times of maintenance activities that

satisfy all precedence and resource constraints and optimize ship availability using genetic

algorithm. Developed a genetic algorithm to find a perfect schedule for maintenance ‘MatLab’

Language was used for development of the genetic algorithm.

Estimation of Reliability of Television Sets (August 2008 to December 2008)

This project presented an integrated technical model to evaluate the reliability of television sets.

Weibull Distribution and various reliability parameters were used for developing this technical

model.

Cylinder and End Cap Assembly Design and Analysis (January 2008 to May 2008)

Modified and analyzed the cylinder and end-cap assembly at Old Dominion University, using

Nastran and Patran software for finite element analysis .
