Manager of IT Operations
Guided all operational aspects of Fiskars’ common IT systems providing maximum uptime, current
maintenance, a disaster recovery process and plan, and a high availability environment. Managed a
staff of 12 with a budget of $700K. Developed and managed a $6M capital and expense IT
Operations and Chargeback budget for systems infrastructure.
• During the three-year JDEdwards ERP roll-out project, provided project management and
technical support to all application team members. For the five divisional ERP roll-outs,
coordinated with functional groups and business divisions on matters of job scheduling,
application problems, change management requests and disaster/recovery testing.
• Implemented a common email system with central login account administration by executing a
global roll-out of Microsoft’s Active Directory, Exchange Email, Symantec’s Anti-Virus, and
Barracuda’s Anti-Spam systems to sixteen North American and European locations. During this
two-year period, collaborated with and traveled to six North American and thirteen European
locations, which included Finland, Poland, Italy, Germany, Russia, France, et al.
• Generated a cost savings of $700K in 2009 through server consolidation and virtualization.
• Reorganized the IT Operations department, reducing headcount from twelve to eight and budget
by $450K while enhancing service levels.
• Improved Help Desk support by providing a self-service portal to Fiskars business systems users
and by increasing 1st level resolution from 42% to 56%.
• Negotiated a 3-year lease on the ERP servers resulting in a cost savings of $1.5 million.
