PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Managed (planning, training, auditing, staffing, budgeting, etc.) the safety (personal and
process) and health program at a major chemical complex in South Louisiana (around 4000
employees) in an efficient and effective manner. This resulted in the site going 5,000,000+ man
hours without an OSHA recordable and receiving a global company award for “Best in Class
Safety Performance”.
Assisted about 10+ major chemical company sites in different geographies within the U.S. such
that they improved safety & health performance. This was done by helping them to assess their
current safety and health program and closing the gaps through the use of different tools, etc.
As a result, this group had about 1/3 less recordable injuries/illnesses than all company sites
and all were named OSHA VPP Star sites.
Actively involved with many safety and health non-profit organizations and government
agencies at a local, regional, national and international level such that relationships were built
and leadership skills were developed. The end result was my holding many offices in safety and
health organizations, including national /international President of the American Society of
Safety Engineers (ASSE 30,000+members) and serving on various OSHA committees.
