Work History
July 2004 to February 2009:
Designer – BHA/GE Energy, Kansas City, MO
Duties: Design dust collection equipment (Baghouses). This includes occasionally
traveling to the customer’s manufacturing plant, taking field measurements, design of
equipment, and the creation of fabrication and installation drawings. All jobs are under
strict and demanding deadlines. Working with the fabricators and going to the shops for
final inspection. GE has provided me with numerous quality control training classes.
Check drawings from other designers. Went to Mexico to train designers there.
May 2001 to June 2004:
Designer – K.C.I. Incorporated, Kansas City, MO
Duties: Design automotive assembly line pneumatic tooling and fiberglass manufacturing
equipment. Travel on site to assess the customer’s needs and develop a design to
effectively meet the desired goal. Create shop fabrication drawings and over see projects
through completion. Engineering team leader for the company’s manufacturing D-base
management system. Internal ISO auditor.
May 1997 to April 2001:
Designer – Concorp Incorporated, Kansas City, MO
Duties: Design fiberglass manufacturing equipment and conveyor equipment. Assist field
crews on site during field installations. Create shop fabrication drawings. At times
delivered and retrieved field equipment and supplies. Worked in the shop as a fabricator
during slow times in engineering and for overtime jobs.
October 1992 to September 1996:
Detail Drafter – Westinghouse Electric, Carlsbad, NM
Duties: Create and revise facility drawings for a government owned radioactive waste
disposal site. Disciplines practiced were; HVAC, piping, mechanical, civil, electrical and
some architectural. Member of the emergency response team. OSHA/MSHA trained to
work in an underground mining environment.
SKILLS:
AutoCAD R10 thru 2008 Mechanical, Inventor 2008 knowledge
Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, Excel, MS Office.
Familiar with Ford Motor Company Design and Detail practices as well as plant
operations and equipment specs.
Internal ISO 9001:2000 auditor training
Experienced in the use of AISC detailing practices.
Mechanically inclined w/ actual hands-on shop fabrication.
Experience working in field solving installation problems.
Research and development on new design of conveyor systems, automotive tooling &
production line equipment.
Underground mining experience.
Six Sigma Greenbelt training. Test and project pending for certification.
