• Contract position as an Energy Engineer. I oversaw the construction,
installation and commissioning of energy management system for the
Osan Military Base. This included a base wide energy management
computer system for the base, base-wide retrofit to energy efficient
lighting, retrofit of base wide heating and cooling and other energy
efficient strategies. Energy efficient strategies included reports of base
energy technologies, keeping base personnel informed of energy
efficiencies and base initiatives to improve energy use. Purchase of
energy efficient boilers and re-commissioning of heating and cooling
systems.
• Performed energy studies of buildings systems by field analysis and
instrumentation, talking to maintenance, talking to the customer and
determining the requirements, referring to industry standards,
recommending changes in the use of lighting and equipment and controls
as necessary to bring about greater efficiency and required pay back
period. Utilized electrical billing schedules in the determination of ways
of lowing the electrical bills and what engineering changes possible that
would produce energy savings.
• Provided energy efficiency expertise to various on going designs, HVAC
maintenance, and electrical maintenance departments to improve the efficient
design and use of energy systems. Researched new beneficial electrical and
building science technologies with the goal of optimizing the energy efficiency
4
of commercial and residential buildings. Communicated information to lay
persons concerning energy efficiency by using audio-visual system software
systems such as Power Point.
