Solution Delivery - Technical Order Management – U.S. Air Force (2003-2004)
The Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) is an Air Force wide
replacement for the aging JCALS (Joint Computer Aided Logistics System) Technical Order
system that has been in place since the late 1980’s. ETIMS is a web centric system consisting
of several core COTS packages, including Teamcenter Enterprise, tied together by a custom
JAVA application. Note that these duties were performed in parallel with my role as
Program Manager above for approximately 1 year.
Performed as the initial Deployment Manager responsible planning and readiness for
USAF Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS).
Responsible for the recruitment and staff management of a 12 person Teamcenter
development staff.
Member of the Organizational Change Management Team that was tasked with site visits
to major USAF commands to prepare for the transition from JCALS to ETIMS.
Global Technology Support Center – Engineering Information Management – The Procter &
Gamble Corporation (1998-2000)
Established and managed the Global Engineering Technology Support Team (GEST) to deliver
and support new engineering technologies and to leverage engineering information globally
within P&G and also to and from their design-engineering suppliers. The team was a cross
functional team composed of Intergraph, P&G and various third party technology suppliers.
The teams major areas of focus were:
Develop global mechanical design standards and practices for Siemens Solid Edge 3D
CAD.
Transition all mechanical design from 2D and other 3D CAD software to Solid Edge as a
common design platform.
Managed the development of the Global Design System (GDS), a globally deployed PLM
system consisting of a customized Visual Basic client to interface Solid Edge with
Intergraph’s AIM (Metaphase) PDM software. The development was accomplished by a
distributed development team in the US and also at a P&G design center in Germany.
Currently GDS is deployed to approximately 2600 end users in the US, Japan, Italy and
Germany.
GDS has produced documented savings in the 10’s of millions of dollars a year.
GDS has also allowed a dramatic increase in the number of design initiatives
that can be undertaken from the 10’s to the 100’s per year.
Provide training and support of Solid Edge, GDS, Rockwell’s RSWire Electrical CAD and
Intergraph’s Plant Design System (PDS).
Provided deployment and operational support for over 300 Windows NT engineering
workstations in the US, Japan, Germany and Italy.
