assignments included researching new technologies (such as U.V. curables and nanoparticles), incorporating technologies
into new product lines, developing alternate applications for products, and launching products with marketing assistance.

• Developed formulations of automotive coatings for exterior and interior
plastic parts, including: primers, adhesion promoters, and waterborne coatings
• Innovated a U.V. curable clear coating technology
• Only chemist assigned to U.V. curables – an entirely new technology for NB Coatings
• Researched U.V Technology- studying in Germany and Japan
• Established professional contacts with RadTech developing a supplier base for raw materials as well as a forum for
technical discussions
• Designed a U.V. clearcoat for headlight lenses – obtaining AMECA listing for products as well as OEM approvals from
domestic auto manufacturers
Researched additional applications of U.V. curable technology including non-automotive
Sole designer of waterbased adhesion promoter for use on Automotive TPO fascias and trim pieces -
material sold widely throughout Europe and USA
• Developed two different 2 component exterior primers for use on rigid plastic substrates for
applications on mirror shells, wheel covers and luggage racks
• Modified solvent based adhesion promoter for use at Saturn to improve appearance and physical
properties
• Met with raw material suppliers to determine material characteristics necessary for inclusion in
finished product as well as to keep abreast of all raw material design improvements.
• Held periodic meetings with customers establishing product specifications, conducting new product
trials, and incorporating improvements
• Began career as an internal Technical Service Representative, later transferred to R&D as a Chemist I
and advanced gradually to Senior Research Scientist
