Summary of duties: As the Personnel Specialist, I respond to
telephone and electronic inquiries. Developed a rapport with
numerous outside temporary agencies, as well as co-workers and the
general public. Present a professional image of the office at all
times. Collect, review and organize my workload in priority order on
a daily basis. Maintain records on recurring administrative matters.
Maintain supplies for the Human Resource office.
All applicants are greeted by myself. When an applicant comes into
our facility they are screened by myself. I then make the
determination which applicant will be included in the next step of
the hiring process by reviewing their application. I then conduct
testing for all potential employees. The tests are graded by myself
and the applicant is made aware of their tests results by myself in a
primarily interview, if they do not pass the tests I convey to them
why. I then make a determination on which potential employee I will
conduct background checks for. Once this determination is made and
the background checks are completed I make the decision on which will
be interviewed for the open positions. I have conducted interviews
and made the hiring decision for the company. Once an offer has
been made to the potential employee I must send them for a drug test.
After the potential employee has completed all the above mentioned
steps, I then conduct new employee orientation apprising the new
employees of company policies and procedures.
I manage the corporate job descriptions. I conducted job analyses
for positions that are held in the company. Reviewed all ADA
(American Disability Act) requirements of the position. Compiled all
data, created and maintained all job descriptions. The employee's
managers review the job descriptions every two years with them. The
reviews are forwarded to myself for any necessary changes and then I
file any updated job descriptions.
I initiate, compose and prepare in final form the corporate OSHA 300
logs. Throughout the year I analyze the data and a database is
completed with the number of OSHA recordable injuries and the
company's incident and dart rates. This database is maintained on a
weekly basis. The database is provided to upper management for their
review in weekly meetings. I have reviewed and corrected any past
OSHA 300 logs.
Manage corporate Hazard Communication Program. Conduct training of
all personnel in regards to the Hazard Communication Program. Supervise
15 employees on different aspects of the program, Material Safety
Data Sheets and Hazard Communication Audits. Enforce that Hazard
Communication is being followed company wide.
I assist employees on benefit issues, such as FMLA, medical, accident
and sickness, personal leave, 401K and funeral leave. Document and
track any leave that is taken by employees. Advise employees of
benefit entitlements that may arise during conversation. I refer
employees to our Employee Assistance Program as needed. I initiate,
compose and maintain the personnel files for all current and past
employees of the company. I am often tasked with new job
responsibilities. I serve as the back up for the Personnel Manager
in her absence.
In my previous positions with the company I was in charge of the company
switchboard, where I greeted all company visitors and routed all calls
to the necessary party. I was in charge of making all travel arrangements
for company personnel. I developed and maintained company reports for top
executives.
