Implemented a Plant-Wide Ergonomics Program:
During the first four years of the plant’s existence, the plant average 20.8
OSHA Recordable injuries per year. 16.3 of those injuries (78%) where
directly as a result of cumulative trauma or sprain/strain type injuries. In
November 2003, I implemented a plant-wide Ergonomics Program. For
the year 2004, the experienced only 9 OSHA Recordable injuries and 4 of
those injuries (44%) were directly as a result of cumulative trauma or
sprain/strain type injuries.

Implemented and Maintained Plant’s ISO 14001 Program:
At the time of my arrival, the plant had no Environmental Management
System. Honda Automotive put out a directive that all of its suppliers must
be ISO 14001 Registered by 2005. As a result, I became the
Environmental Management Representative (EMR) of the plant. I headed
the Implementation Team, defined the environmental aspects of the plant,
determined the environmental significant impacts, and came up with our
objectives and targets to continuously improve our system. I was the head
auditor of the program. The plant became officially ISO 14001 Registered
in January 2004.
Lead Auditor of the Plant’s TS 16949 (ISO 9002) Quality Management
System.
