HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Extensive experience as a Human Resources Manager in four non-union manufacturing facilities with up to 700
employees specifically in Baked Goods, Forestry and Technology Industries. Administered all aspects of Human
Resources including:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Human Resources Assistant Manager, Therm-O-Disc, Inc., Mansfield, Ohio 2003-2009
Therm-O-Disc ($270M sales), a subsidiary of the Emerson Corp($21B sales), is a leading supplier of temperature
sensors, controls and electrical switches to the global appliance, HVAC, automotive and commercial industries.
Reporting to Plant HR Manager, performed Generalist duties for a Lean Manufacturing non-union facility with up to
700 employees, including: hourly/salaried staffing, disciplinary issues, HRIS system data entry (Ultipro/Kronos),
administer job bidding process, new employee orientation, attendance tracking software (Nextrak) administration,
counseling retirees, plant quarterly newsletter, service award program, and coordinating employee events.
Selected Accomplishments
• Established and executed a Value Stream project to ensure Management completed monthly
communication meetings with hourly employees. For Fiscal Year 2008, a 100% completion rate was
achieved.
• Managed a Lean project to install a software program, which streamlined the payroll maintenance data
entry process, eliminating the need to enter data into two systems separately, thereby saving time,
lowering labor cost and reducing errors.
• Instituted a program to ensure Supervisors completed performance reviews for all hourly employees on
an ongoing, monthly basis. As a result of the program, a 100% completion rate was achieved in Fiscal
year 2008 for the first time (450 hourly reviews were completed on time and no progression increases
were missed).
• Finalized and administered a project to install Nextrak which resulted in a significant downward trend in
the plant’s absenteeism rate from 10.0% to 7.1%. The program automated the attendance disciplinary
program by tracking each employee’s attendance through Kronos entries, applying the company’s
attendance policy to absent hours and emailing resulting corrective actions to supervisors.
Human Resources Manager, Therm-O-Disc, Inc., London, Kentucky 2002-2003
Senior, on site, Human Resources Manager for 300 non-union employees. Reported to Plant Manager and Regional
HR leadership. Managed the HR department staff. Developed, implemented, and coordinated company policies
covering employment, employee relations, wage, salary, and benefit administration, orientation and training, safety
and resolving employee issues.
Selected Accomplishments
• Received a substantial favorable response for the HR department was indicated on the biannual
Employee Opinion Survey as compared to the previous survey conducted 2 years earlier and under a
previous HR Administration.

• Coordinated successful plant closing in March of 2003, including coordinating 60 day WARN notice,
counseling employees, helping employees secure employment, coordinating NAFTA/TAA petition and
assisting the state’s Dislocated Worker Unit’s Rapid Response Team to aid employees.
Human Resources Manager, Columbia Forest Products. Manchester, Kentucky. 2001-2002
Columbia Forest Products is an employee owned, 3,500 employe company and North America’s largest
manufacturer of hardwood veneer, hardwood plywood and laminated products.
Senior, on site, Human Resources Manager for 125 non-union employees. Reported to Plant General Manager and
Regional HR leadership. Responsible for safety, recruiting, terminations, maintaining employment records, job
bidding, worker’s compensation, and coordination of benefits including health insurance and ESOP/401K plans.
Selected Accomplishments
• No lost time injuries during entire tenure at facility
• Coordinated successful plant closing in December of 2002, including coordinating 60 day WARN
notice, counseling employees, helping employees secure employment, coordinating NAFTA/TAA

Earthgrains was a publicly traded, $2.6 B sales, 26,000 employee, manufacturer of a wide range of baked products
with divisions throughout the U.S. and Europe (Earthgrains was purchased by the Sara Lee Corp. August 2001)
Senior on-site Human Resources Manager for 415 non-union production and sales/delivery employees. Reported to
Plant Manager and Corporate HR leadership. Lead employee communication meetings, develop and implement
policies including the writing of Affirmative Action plans, recruit hourly/salaried employees, employee disciplinary
issues, terminations, coordinated benefits including insurance/profit sharing/401K plans, DOT compliance, safety,
maintained employee records, and company representative in all matters involving state/federal employment matters
Selected Accomplishments
• No lost time injuries from September of 1997 until October of 2000.
• Personally chosen by CEO to staff a new plant in Gadsden, Alabama. Successfully hired employees for
plant start-up.
• Scored a 910 out of a possible 1000 on the 2001 American Institute of Baking Safety Audit, a
comprehensive 3 day audit of the plant’s safety program, including safety management issues and
OSHA compliance.
• No lawsuits, wrongful discharge lawsuits or harassment suits during entire tenure at facility.

• Currently in preparation to take SPHR exam.
