EPIC Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record Trainer/Analyst

Participate in EPIC Ambulatory implementation, gaining a strong knowledge base on the

effective use of the electronic medical records tool.

Build SmartSets for Health Maintenance Program, Cardiology, Surgery,

Pediatrics, OB/Gyn, Urology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Dermatology;

Build Smartphrases and SmartLists for ENT, Pediatrics, Family Practice,

Cardiology, Bone and Joint, Internal Medicine, Dermatology; Build Letters for

Conducted more than 20 classroom training for Bone and Joint, ENT, Cardiology,

system to help them in assisting the care-providers document more cleanly and

accurately. The end in view for this exercise was to have a shorter claims

processing turn around time as well as increase revenue generation for each

provider.

1) Training and Education

a) Conducted training and education for users, doctors, nurses, and receptionists on

the effective use of EPIC Ambulatory Medical Records. Environment is either

classroom training or one-on-one.

b) Redesigned training materials to fit into the working environments of the trainees.

c) Conducted basic training on Windows operations, computer operations, analysis of

needs and requirements, and hardware components and technical reporting

procedures.

d) Conducted personalized training for sales associates on cashiering, product

information, systems processes for each department, product know-how for each

department.

2) Technical Support

a) Phone and onsite support to answer technical questions regarding EPIC product(s),

tool(s), and systems and processes delivered to users.

b) Manage change requirements and corrects/builds SmartTools.

defined needs and requirements.

3) Customer Management

a) Interfacing and consulting with various end users of electronic medical record

system and department heads regarding needs and requirements and translating

the input into functional specifications as required by the development group.

b) Redesigning of prescribed training curriculum to fit into the operating environment

of the trainees.

c) Providing level 1 support to various levels of end users on the effective use of the

electronic medical records. Building tools needed to help the end users in

producing concise documentation regarding patient information.

d) Working in retail industry; being a direct contact of customers; providing technical

knowledge about products being purchased.

Additional Professional Information

I have undergone training and passed all projects requirements, and written tests administered

by EPIC. I am certified as Proficient in EPIC Ambulatory Spring 2006 release.

Using EPIC Ambulatory and working with the users provided a stronger knowledge base that

has helped me in sharing with the users, doctors, nurses, and receptionists how to effectively

use the electronic medical records tool provided by EPIC. Involved interaction with the users,

doctors, nurses, and receptionists has given me a profound understanding of the healthcare

outpatient needs and requirements such that the tools we have built were more comprehensive

and applicable to each clinic/specialty we are implementing. I have been responsible for

SmartSet builds for HMP, Cardiology, Surgery, Urology, and Family Practice.

I conducted training for the Bone and Joint, the ENT, the Cardiology, Health Management,

OB/Gyn, Surgery, Urology, Family Practice satellite clinics, and the Internal Medicine satellite

clinics. I was assigned ownership of the business analysis for the Surgery Department and took

responsibility for the actual Go Live implementation for this department. I have also conducted

individualized training for doctors, nurses, receptionists who are assigned to the departments

that are already live on EPIC.

Technical Support included answering technical questions regarding the use of the different

features and functions of EPIC, analyzing the basic changes on requirements, transforming

these requirements into functional specifications for the development team to construct and

build, and coordinating with end users and development team the various aspects of the

development cycle. I have also made Smart Tools builds to address the changing needs of the

various users.

Consulting on a freelance capacity with the end users has given me updated skills and

backgrounds on the latest developments on EPIC, thereby supplementing my previous

knowledgebase.

Customer management and interaction is my primary responsibility within the Macy’s Dept.

Store providing the needed experience in dealing with a diversity of people, values, and cultural

background. This has strengthened my communications skill, both oral and written, as well as

my interpersonal relationships.

As an administrative assistant I have been responsible for the generation and interpretation of

certain aspects of MD productivity as well as the various departmental productivity reports. I am

mainframe technology. Responsibilities included supporting the marketing, sales, training, and

the in-house computer operations groups in the pursuit of their goals and achievements.
