Provided a $650,000 cost reduction to the customer without a cost implementation impact. Also, provided
a massive scrap reduction to employer worth $20,000 per year for the life of the platform.

1999-2003 Quality Manager, Intermet Corp. Product: Automotive castings (safety related).
Responsible for all aspects of product quality, process identification and documentation, QS-9001 system
management and auditing, customer satisfaction and inspection and metrology laboratory (CMM). G.R. &R.
auditing and testing, ultrasonic testing, radiography, department budget development and management.
Developed and managed a robotic casting finishing cell integrating nondestructive testing (UT), as well as
vision systems.
Implemented and managed a G.R. & R. system in a Metrology Lab (CMM) with the Inspection Team being
trained and certified.
1996-1999 Quality Manager, Citation Corporation Product: Heavy equipment castings.
Responsible for all product quality issues. Process development, documentation, inspection and metrology
(CMM). ISO-9000 registration/certification (initial certification - Lloyds of London).
Initial ISO-9000 certification was achieved after 3 months of coming on board after a failed preliminary
audit before arrival.
Received awards for quality performance from Caterpillar, John Deere and Ford New Holland.
1984-1996 Program Manager, Wagner Castings Company Product: Automotive safety-related castings & Research &
Development for U.S. Department of Defense.
Responsible for establishing funding with the U.S. Congress, competitive contract acquisition, process
development, subcontractor support and management. Determine quality requirements, non-destructive testing
requirements, metallurgical development, final delivery and field performance follow-up. Final delivery of all
documentation. Manage all direct and matrixes personnel for contract performance and delivery. Responsible
for all financial performance to company CFO and Government auditors (DCAA).
Personally developed tooling fixtures resulting in 2 U.S. Government patents.
Developed lost foam-based Appliqué armor tested successfully at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (BRL).
Development of 3 “first-time in the world” products which were transitioned to production.
Received responsibility of managing Research & Development Foundry performing at a loss and turned into
a profit center within 6 months.
Managed both direct report Metallurgical Engineers and subcontractor Michigan Technological University
assets (Keweenaw Research Center) for tank tread development for the U.S. Army (M1A1
Main Battle Tank, M109A6 SPH, M113 APC, M2/3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle).
Successfully negotiated Joint Venture with German company (DIEHL) for the development and production
transition for experimental tank tread for the MaK “Wiesel” recon vehicle.
Managed a patented process development to replace investment casting process (lost wax) with an ice-
based process.
Developed new process under contract with US Army for M804E1 155mm artillery projectile, 81mm mortar
warhead, 16”/50 cal. Naval Battleship projectile for Dahlgren NSWC.

Developed, built and managed a 17,000 sq. ft. state of the art Research & Development foundry to
support contractual performance with the DoD, fully funded by the U.S. Government.
QUALIFICATIONS
A “hands-on” Manager/Team Leader/Engineer who gets things done. Experienced with Non-Destructive Testing Techniques,
QS-9000 & ISO-9000 Registration/Certification management, Laboratory management and inspection/metrology, kaizan
lean manufacturing, constraint analysis, cost reduction and process optimization. Over 30 years in the field of Quality
Management and Program Management; dealing primarily with the U.S. Automotive market and the U.S. Department of
Defense, both in plastics and cast metals. Excellent experience with D.O.E., Lean (Kaizan), SPC, SPS and quality training. I
also have excellent skills utilizing the Microsoft Office ensemble of programs; EXCEL, WORD, Project, PowerPoint and Access.
