Working on a SKU Rationalization project to switch low performer SKUs to high

performer SKUs, to reduce complexity and operational costs, but at the same time

Senior Operations Support Manager (ERP Implementation)

Active participation in project management during SAP system implementation in Latin American

companies which included resources allocation, budget control, scope control, progress follow up,

and frequent formal reporting to steering committee. Directly in charge of development

programming group (ABAP), including middleware (EDI and SAP connector) resources, and security

resources.

Reduced consulting expenses by $1.4 MM by outsourcing to India, within 9 months for a

system automation project, without sacrificing product quality and timeframe.

Stabilized the operation for each one of the countries within 3 months of the new

systems going live.

Senior Operations Support Manager (Production Support)

Built and directed the SAP Application Production Support Group who supported the modules FI/CO,

SD, MM, SM, and TM. Support included programmers in ABAP, EAI (middleware), and EDI.

Maintained close communications with users to set up priorities. Achieved objectives within budget

parameters. Responsible for service level agreements and core business applications. Oversaw

integrity and standardization. Set up of helpdesk in coordination with a third party, for supporting 9

Reduced on going systems production support expenses by $1.2MM per year by

outsourcing programming and functional resources.

Reduced time for accounting month end closing and financial statements reporting to one

working day, through automation and systems improvements, including consolidation of all

companies and final transmission to Tokyo.

Senior Operations Support Manager (Infrastructure & Security)

Management of the Technical Architecture and Infrastructure Group which supports all Latin

American companies, including SAP basis and security groups. Oversaw the WAN, LAN,

servers, printers, and security. Directed the implementation of servers to support SAP systems

in a centralized data center in New York for Latin American companies, as well as coordination

of installation of the network to connect all the countries to the servers in New York. Handled all

the daily support.

Selected, negotiated, purchased, and installed SAP servers to hold the SAP regional

systems for all Latin American countries and accomplished the adequate sizing, and good

hardware performance without the need for additional investment in hardware during the

following 2 years after implementation.

Negotiated service level agreement with AT&T and Sony shared services, resulting in fast

service response 24X7, no more than 5 minutes downtime for hardware failures and 30

minutes downtime for network failures.

Senior Operations Support Manager (Finance & Compliance)

Handled the management of all financial and administration applications that support company

operations in all Latin American region, including SAP R3, Hyperion, corporate, and local

applications, as well as financial reporting to Tokyo. Regional officer and project manager for the

Sarbanes & Oxley project for the whole Latin America, reporting to Tokyo. Acted as Regional IT

compliance officer, including Anti Money Laundering aspects. Liaison with internal and external

auditors.

Implemented successfully, several Finance Projects under Project Management

methodology, on time, on budget, and high quality.

Completed of all IT documentation, walkthrough completion, controls identification, and

Management Information Systems Executive Manager (2000–2001)

Managed the data center, staff, plans, and budget. Responsible for day to day operations,

management reports, and communications with Tokyo, Miami area office, and local

management. Participated in the project management for the implementation of the

infrastructure for a corporate project of installing an ERP (SAP) in all Sony Latin American

countries.

Actively managed and contributed to the implementation of the first ERP system in the

region, for the countries of Panama and Colombia, successfully going live on time and

on budget.

Established the first regional SAP template for Sony in Latin America region.

Actively helped to build a global re-invoicing center system in New York by contributing

to the design of the system.

Computer Manager (1990–2000)

Managed the data center, staff, plans, and budget. Developed customs made systems to control the

company operations. Implemented telecommunications with Asian factories. Responsible for

management reports and communications with Tokyo headquarters.

Reduced spare parts inventory, improved the spare parts supply for customers, and

eliminated the obsolete inventory build up, through system automation of the spare parts

operation and within 6 months customer satisfaction indexes improved from 45% to 95%,

and backorders level decreased from 2000 line items to 30 line items.

Improved customer service in the repair shop through system automation reducing the

average lead time reparation from 4 months to one week, inventory of machines not picked

up by customers from 3 months to one week, and substantially decreased the spare parts

inventory of the shop.

COMPANIA INTERAMERICANA GILLETTE, S.A., Panama 1982–1990

Headquarters for Panama, Central America countries, Ecuador, and Caribbean islands

Area Materials Supervisor (1988–1990)

Managed the regional inventories, purchasing, and distribution of finished good products in the

region. Prepared all corporate reports to Boston headquarters. Designed and automated in

house system to manage the purchasing with all suppliers, and to manage the sales forecast

with all customers.

Organized and established procedures, enhancing the operation customer forecast,

supplier forecast, turning around the purchasing function. It lead to substantially

reduce the finished goods inventory and to improve the KPIs.

Implemented changes in purchasing products by analyzing the sourcing options. The

changes of suppliers turned in high reductions of cost of goods sold of the same

product that positively impacted the P&L.

Computer Supervisor (1982–1988)

Build the data center and the IT department from scratch, from purchasing the mainframe and all

PC’s, designing, programming, testing, and implementing all in house systems, hiring and

managing all IT personnel, to reporting to local and corporate management in Boston global

headquarters.

Developed a 100% automated budget and simulation system that improved the

budgeting function. It drove the company to grow from paper estimation to highly

accurate budget.

Contributed to the growth of the company by supporting the operation through systems.
