MedQuist, Inc. (10/2000 – 11/2004)/Sr. Software Engineer
Joined the document management and distribution development team to assist in developing DMS, a web -
based document management and distribution system. I was identified as the SME (subject matter expert)
in web development and was appointed lead developer of a team of 11 developers. This two year project
utilized Windows 2000 Servers, ASP 3.0, JavaScript, VBScript, VB 6.0, XML, and SQL Server 2000. This
project required me to mentor some application developers into web developers and advise manag ement on
technical direction of the product. The product was released as a per client intranet solution to over 2000+
clients.
DMS was reengineered for the .NET platform. I continued my lead role and reengineered the system,
which gave DMS better options for scalability, development, deployment, and maintainability. Aside from
being the lead developer on the project, I was responsible for the database logical and physical design and
the data access components. This six month project was built using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server 2000.
I joined the enterprise development team to participate in systems integration of variou s company systems.
I participated in the analysis of the enterprise integration. During this analysis it was identified that an
interface (technology used to pass data between various health information systems) engine module would
be needed to support the enterprise workflow. I played a key role in identifying the architecture and
technology for the new feature. I was tasked with developing a .NET Windows Forms desktop application
