development work. Use of 3Dxr System and the Rhythm software for image review ( X-rays)
Work with technical drawings.
EXPERIENCE
CONTRACT POSITION
9/01/2012 - 9/23/2012 – Blue Ridge Metals Fletcher, NC
Quality Engineer/ Metallurgy. Work with STC furnaces for annealing. Monitor wire
pickling, annealing, and drawing process. Microscopical examination for decarburized or
carburized case depth.
10/2011 – 01/2012 - GE Aviation Airfoils /Adecco - Quality Assurance
Piedmont, SC- Level II Digital Radioscopy and Computed Tomography Inspection.
Inspected aircraft engine turbine blades
airfoils.
PERMANENT POSITIONS
2009 – 20011 - DSE Systems LLC, Inc. - Gaffney, SC
Radioscopy, Digital System Operator Level II - Quality Control
X-ray inspection of munitions and documentation of results. Make accept/reject decisions as per
customer standard and specification. Communicate any discrepancies with supervisor, for MRB
review and corrective actions. Maintain the corporate Quality System is in alignment with
requirements to standards and specifications.
2007 – 2009 - VJ Technologies, Inc. - Savanna River Site Aiken, South Carolina
Real Time Radiography (RTR) Quality Control
Inspected nuclear waste materials and reviewed reports
1988 – 2000 - Atlantic Casting& Engineering Corp., Clifton New Jersey
Lab Technician NDT- Quality Control
Managed daily operation of metallurgical and nondestructive testing, and performed liquid
penetrant & radiographic testing inspection of aluminum alloys castings. Did solid state analysis
using the Baird Arc/park Spectrometer for incoming aluminum ingots.
Monitored solution heat-treated aluminum alloys parts, A356, and C355 for high temperature
oxidation and eutectic melting and perform hardness testing of T6 components. Measurements of
casting thickness using ultrasonic wall thickness gages. Use of calipers and micrometers. Work
with the team in quality improvement processes.
1987 – 1988 - Teledyne Powder Alloys, Clifton New Jersey
Metallurgist
Research in tungsten alloys design with an aim to increase density. Formulated tungsten powder
mix for sintering, monitor sintering temperatures. Weighed out powders, mixed, made compacts
and sinter to produce slug. Polishing, etching, and metallographic examination of sintered
samples, checked sintered density, magnetic permeability and Rockwell Hardness of test
samples, document results.
1981-1986 - Guyana National Engineering Corporation, Georgetown
Foundry and Ship Building Division- Metallurgist
Formulated metal charges for melting cast iron, bronze, brass and aluminum alloys.
Operated 20 tons induction, furnace, 300 lbs. tilting crucible furnace for aluminum and brass
melting. Supervised casting processes and conducted chill testing, sand permeability and
moisture content testing with the aim to reduce porosity and surface defects. Planned
experimentation of sand casting processes to reduce porosity thus improved structure and
properties of the castings. X-Ray of welds .
TEMPORARY POSITIONS
6/2006 – 9/2006 -Chromalloy New York- Orangeburg New York City
Quality Control Inspector
Conducted visual, pressure and electrical conductivity testing of turbine blades castings for
commercial and military applications and work with drawings, procedures and travelers to
document any defects that may be found during inspection. Carry out surface roughness testing
of turbine blades.
2006 – 3/2006- NYF Corp. Metallurgy- Paramus, NJ
Metallurgist
Verified specification and chemical analysis of materials used for the manufacture of military
and aerospace components and report findings.
TRAININGS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Metallurgy - Lab Technician
Research and development of welding electrodes. Performed Microscopical analysis of welded
samples made from low and medium carbon steels, tensile, charpy -v-notch testing to determine
the ductile to brittle transition ranges of the welds. Hardness testing was also done and results
were documented.
1979 - 1980 Harry Stangers Laboratory London England
Metallurgy - Lab Technician – Quality Control
Metallographic examination and spectrochemical analysis of metals slugs/coupons (drilled steel)
was sampled and tested for carbon content ( Gravimetric combustion method). Did chemical
analysis by titration of dissolved iron and steels samples for aluminum, manganese,
nickel, phosphorus, and vanadium content.
