A utomated Logistical Specialist (92A)
S erved in Operation Iraqi Freedom VII - VIIII from July 2 007 to June
2 008. Executed interior security for the Forward Operating base (FOB)
i n Iraq. Conduct 24 hour surveillances of outer perimeters of the Forward
O perating Base (FOB) by doing spot checks, reported suspicious
b ehavior like security breaches to t he Joint Air Defense Center
( JADOC). Completed daily tower manning reports verifying any
s uspicious activity that was sighted. Escorting Local Nationals (LN) of
Iraq on base. Checked Local Nationals (LNs) for proper identifications to
e nter military base. C onducted secondary searches for weapons or illegal
i tems before entering the base. Maintained watch while Local Nationals
( NLs) carried out tasks and limit their interactions with personnel on
b ase. After job is completed conducting a secondary check to m ake sure
n o illegal items were taken from the base like pictures, videos, clothing,
maps or books. Executed 12 hour detail roaming guard patrol along the
b ase’s burn pit and fence line for the purpose of observe suspicious
b ehavior. Reports were completed a t the end of every shift and all
i ncredulous behavior was reported to Joint Air Defense Center (JADOC).
I w orked with the 39th Infantry Unit from Arkansas as a supply assistant
f or Charlie Company in the motor -pool. The main goal of this position
w as to s upport the soldiers conducting convoy security. This job entailed
i ssuing supplies to soldiers as requested by the supply sergeant. Supplies
l ike ammunition, weapon accessories, weapon cleaning kits, protective
c lothing and gear. Carry out inventory of amm unition supply, weapons,
s ensitive items like radio mounts, electronic communicators like daggers
a nd radio systems. Report any discrepancies in material received or in
t he supply ro om to the supply sergeant. Alerted s upply sergeant of stocks
t hat need to b e replenished and supplies requested by the platoon and
s quad leaders. Maintained daily communication with the Automated
L ogistical Special i s t a nd motor pool mechanics to verify which vehicles
w ere not mission capable and which were operable. Secure limit ed
a ccess areas with weapons, ammunition and highly sensitive equipment.
C ollaborate with company Armor to identify weapons and weapon
a ccessories like scopes to verify serial numbers. Pick up supply from the
S upply Support Activity (SSA). Transport milit ary equipment like
l aptops, documents and supplies to their a ppropriate destina tions as
r equested by the supply sergeant or any other superior.
