policies and procedures, recruit staff-level employees, develop the company succession program, and
identify and fulfill training needs. Manage leave-of-absence programs, assist in the creation and
improvement of proprietary attendance tracking software, secure and manage government grants,
administer the training budget, and handle workplace investigations and employee disputes. Verify payroll
and benefits administration.
Key Results:
• Developed a training program for a $50,000 training grant from the state of Tennessee, allowing a
41% reallocation of previously budgeted training money with no deterioration in training programs.
• Re-designed the training request process to require a return-on-investment component, and
developed an automated calculator to assist in determining ROI, resulting in an elimination of
$145,000 in unnecessary training costs.
• Redesigned the company’s compensation system, focusing on internal alignment, as well as external
alignment.
• Advised senior management on benefits and communication programs that were cited as the primary
reason for reducing Y2008 overall turnover by 23% from Y2007.
• Re-wrote the employee handbook with regulatory and policy updates, disciplinary procedural changes,
and benefits information
• Advised the IT department on specific policy and procedure in the creation of a proprietary employee
tracking system
