RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Research Assistant June 2007 March 2009
Wright State University, Dayton, OH
• To develop a GUI (in MATLAB) to study different types of reconstruction
algorithms used in Computed Tomography
• The developed GUI also has option for user inputs and analysis to be performed
on the reconstructed images
• Both qualitative and quantitative analysis tools were made available in the GUI
Teaching Assistant September 2007 November 2007
Wright State University, Dayton, OH
• Coordinated and taught Biomedical Computers lab sessions and circuit maker
software for sophomore students.Taught basic MATLAB programming
RELEVANT PROJECTS:
• Apnoea Detector
Implemented working apnoea detector circuit model which detects the time lag
associated with the occurrence of apnoea and displays it. Handled major part of design
and component level development of the circuit.
• Heart rate counter
A correlation code was implemented to count the R-peaks of an ECG. The program
displays patient heart rate with where a patient ECG is input. This was done using
MATLAB program.
• Reduction in image noise
Developed a program to remove image noise with least blur using spatial domain filters
on MATLAB platform.
• Enhancement of dental Image by outlining
A program was built using MATLAB to outline a tooth in any dental x-ray image.
• Automatic nuclei counter of a given image
The numbers of nuclei in histological cross section of pancreatic tissue were counted
using a program developed in MATLAB.
PRESENTATIONS/POSTER:
• Poster on micro CT and its advancements at Wright State University, Dayton,
OH, June2007. Advancement of micro CT over conventional CT was highlighted
• ‘Biomedical imaging laboratory: BMIL’ seminar at Wright State University,
Dayton, OH, Nov 2007
• Presented the steps to build a GUI (Graphical User Interface), to study different
types of reconstruction algorithms
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• MATLAB
• Window Xp / 9X/vista
• Microsoft Office
• Programming Languages
• C, C++
RELEVANT COURSE COMPETENCIES:
• Medical Imaging Biological Modeling and Simulations
• Biomedical Instrumentation Linear Systems
• Human Anatomy and Physiology Photon radiation
