My activities are to submit PPAP’s (ISIR), attend customer visits, improve the quality
system, follow up on corrective actions and action Items from BMW visits, work with
machining tech to improve capability, audit processes and be involving on the
management role for the future quality manager position.

Position: Supplier Development Engineer for D42 Altima Coupe and L42 C Maxima
My activities were to review / approve PPAP’s, monthly score cards, supplier IQ
meetings, follow up on corrective actions, attend run-rate for critical suppliers, audit
processes / products at supplier locations, and visit suppliers to be involved with teams
to solve major issues or find new potential suppliers. Continual improvements projects
are a significant part of my responsibilities.

My main activities were to respond to any customer requirements and supplier issues
along with maintaining the TS-16949 certification. The performance of my department
was reviewed on a monthly basis through metrics where the cost of the quality and the
customer satisfaction are essential.
When I was living in Mexico working for the same company my position was Customer
Liaison attending to three Lear locations and GM Silao. After one and a half years I was
relocated to DURA Tennessee, USA where I was working about six years.
Customers: Lear Corporation, Intier-Magna, Johnson Controls (Tier 1), GM (Tier 2).

Main products: CD Changer and mechanism of cassette for car stereo to the
automotive industry and aftermarket.
Position: I had different positions in the quality area: Supplier development, QS-9000
coordinator, Customer service, Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, PPAP
coordinator and Assistance Quality Manager.
Customers: Ford and Delphi (Tier 1) GM, Nissan, Honda and VW (Tier 2).

NEW PROGRAM LAUNCH EXPERIENCE
1. CLARION:
a). In 1993 I was part of the APQP team for the CD changer launch with FORD
(Explorer, Lincoln, Ranger, Continental).
b). I was part of the team to get the Q1 award since FORD was a new customer for us.
c). In 1997 I was part of the APQP team for the new CD-Cassette-stereo launch with
DELCO Electronics.
d). In 1998 and 1999 I was in charge of the introduction of new domestic supplier for
different components of CD and mechanism of cassette (plastics, stamping parts,
harness, rivets, plastic and metal brackets, wires).
e). In 1990 I was part of the team to implement the DELCO requirements (target for
excellence, workshops, etc) for the new model of mechanism of cassette.
f). In 1995 I was the QS-9000 coordinator and responsible to achieve this new
requirement.
2. DURA Automotive:
a). In 1999 I was the customer field engineer for the new launch of the GMT-800 at GM
Silao, Mexico (SUV Suburban). I was supporting sunroof, power and manual seat
adjusters later on Cadillac and Escalade launches as part of the GMT-800 SUV’s.
b). In 2004 I was part of the team to implement the new TS-16949 standard.
c). In 2006 I was responsible for coordinating the APQP system for all new suppliers for
the new Ford U387 program (Ford Edge and Lincoln).
3. TACLE Seating USA:
A). - In 2007 I was part of the team to development and implement new quality
procedures for the new start up plant and hire people for the quality area.
b). - In 2007 I was working with all suppliers by coordinating APQP activities and
run@rates for PT-1, PT-2 and SOP for the new D42 Nissan program (Altima coupe).
Later on new Maxima sedan 2009 program, which was launched in June-2008.
Also, I conducted presentations to communicate supplier quality policies and quality
requirements to TACLE suppliers (supplier day meetings).

1. I have dual citizenship (Mexico-USA). Bilingual English-Spanish.
2. I have more than 19 years of experience working in the automotive industry
environment in the quality area, 11 years in Mexico and 8 years in the USA.
3. I was helping other DURA locations to conduct audits to the quality system and
process since I am lead assessor ISO/TS-16949:2002.
