Associate Architect – Client Services

Responsible for application architecture, design/development, project leadership,

implementation estimates and client technical consulting for over 35 US-based clients.

Identify and define integration points between Hubbard One and client legacy enterprise

systems. Define the architecture and when necessary, implement a base framework for

the application, which would then be handed over to a developer for completion.

Create technical specification and audit documents and work with project managers to

define and meet all project requirements and provide technical budget management for

projects with budgets ranging from $60K to $300K. Documents were available to clients

upon request.

Work closely with client partners and project managers to provide technical sales support

and consultations to both current and prospective clients.

Manage and mentor a team of 3 full-time developers and as many as 4 contractors.

Specifically, provide technical direction and workload planning for each of the developers.

Utilized processes and effective communication to keep all developers above a 90%

utilization rate.

Identify and recommend relevant emerging technologies (JQuery, RIA tracking) which may

be used by both Hubbard One and its clients.

Provide on-site training and consultation for the Hubbard One framework and API’s to

clients who choose to implement the Hubbard One software in a self-hosted environment

Consistently implemented client websites on time and under budget using the latest

Hubbard One framework and CMS tool, which is currently built on the .Net 3.5 framework.

Provide support for existing client websites and maintain the 99.9% ‘uptime’ as defined in

our SLA with our clients. Client websites were built on various H1 frameworks and

spanned all versions of the .Net Framework (1.0 through 3.5).

Lead Developer – Store Systems

Implemented architectural (both at the application and enterprise level)

changes/enhancements, performed developer code reviews, managed resources and

tracking and assigned defects to developers.

Implemented a Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System environment for the

development staff, including the migration of source code from a legacy CVS environment

to Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

Created the Store Systems development framework which provided developers and

consultants an easier way to keep track of software ‘modules’, reduced developer ‘ramp-up

time’ for projects and allowed for better, more efficient, code re-use throughout multiple

applications, reducing development and testing costs.

Implemented the Development to QA Handoff workflow, which cemented the required

deliverables and documentation needed by development prior to handing over software to

the QA team. This process included the documentation and execution of unit test code,

defined the relationship between QA and Dev for defect tracking, and constructed rigid

guidelines around the deployment process of software to the QA environments.

Responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of 5 developers.

Strategic Staffing Solutions April 2006-July 2006

Senior Consultant – Wachovia Securities

Senior developer on Wachovia Securities APS (Associate Profile System) application

which monitors registration information for 10,000+ associates registered with Wachovia

Securities.

Designed and constructed new functionality for the APS application. This process included

interfacing with business analysts to get scope and requirements, creating technical design

documentation for review by architecture team, coding of new libraries in C# and ASP.Net,

and unit testing newly created libraries.

Extended existing application functionality as defined by the business analysts and user

teams and required architecting modifications to existing (legacy) code, and implementing

them without the users noticing any decline in system availability or functionality.

The Hartford January 2004-April 2006

Production Support Team Lead

Promoted from Lead Developer to Production Support Team Lead in December 2004 for

DCS, GCAMS, MARS and Automated Renewal applications. Duties included maintaining

Sarbanes Oxley compliancy, approving and overseeing defects and system

enhancements, managing monthly releases, and creating and presenting monthly status

reports to upper management.

Responsible for a team of 6 developers used to maintain production code environment

Lead Developer

Worked with a team of developers and business analysts in Chicago, Hartford, CT, and

Maitland, FL to create strategies for both the migration of LTD claims from CNA to Hartford

systems and runoff of STD claims in CNA Systems.

Developed a data map of LTD claims from CNA DCS application to Hartford DCS system

which was utilized by ETL developers with Informatica to migrate claims.

Analyzed source CNA DCS system and implemented enhancements to effectively ‘turn off’

CNA DCS claims post migration, as well as ensure that they are not processed by any

downstream applications.

Coordinated testing efforts between Chicago, Hartford, CT, Maitland, FL and Kansas City,

MO branch offices.

Team Lead for Lift and Load project migrating over 200 applications from CNA to Hartford

infrastructure within a 6 month timeframe. This included all applications, physical data

storage, databases and environments (ie dev, test, qa) for these applications. My

particular focus was on the DCS/GCAMS family of applications totaling 10+ apps.

Developed custom Crystal Reports for a Group Benefits rating application which are

accessed via users over a web interface.

CNA October 2002-December 2003

Sr. Application Development Specialist

Lead Developer for high-profile, mission critical, and client facing DCS (Disability Claim

System) DAT3 implementation. Project required architecture of new application

components as well as enhancements to current code libraries to accept migration of data

from legacy system.

Lead Developer for DCS Online and Batch Systems migration from Windows NT 4.0 to

Window 2000 sp2 requiring review of application source code to identify possible areas of

concern prior to development.

Complete nightly application builds requiring the compilation of forty-seven subprojects per

build.

Work with Package and Deployment team to create SMS deployment scripts for DCS

deployment.

Review code of junior and fellow senior developers to ensure quality and adherence to

current best practices.

Coordinate with QA teams in Maitland, FL to promptly respond to and resolve application

defects throughout all phases of the projects.

Plan and perform final rollout of DCS application into production environment.

Develop and implement technical designs from specifications provided by business

analysts, as well as review and approve designs of junior level developers.

Responsible for a team of four developers.

LaSalle Street Securities-Chicago, IL April 2001-October 2002

Architect / Developer

LaSalle OFAC process, which identifies new accounts, groups them together, and then

sends their information via PGP encrypted FTP to Equifax, were they are processed, and

then returned with a status. Application was implemented via SQL Server DTS packages,

SQL stored procedures and a web-form based application written in ASP.Net and ADO.Net

for data selection and scrubbing.

NFS Data Transport system, a multitude of daily flat files that are sent from client’s clearing

house detailing the previous day’s account activity. Final solution developed with SQL

Server DTS packages, BCP and stored procedures, with a windows based admin

application written in ASP.Net 1.1 and ADO.Net.

Redesigned and rebuilt SQL Server 6.5 enterprise database. Normalized and ported the

existing SQL 6.5 database to SQL Server 2000. This resulted in an estimated increase in

database efficiency and an increase in application speed..

Assisted LaSalle Street Securities MIS Department in the redevelopment and deployment

of existing MS Access97 based front-end interface to SQL Server enterprise database.
