EMPLOYMENT
OBJECTIVE: Project Management Position in which I can utilize and expand upon the skills
I’ve developed during twenty years in construction.
MOST RECENTLY: Director of Design & Construction with Opus West Corporation, a
National Top 10 Real Estate Developer & Design-Build General Contractor. Scope of work
included direct oversight of the design and the construction of all Greater Sacramento Area
Office, Retail & Industrial development projects. Duties included conceptual land planning, pre-
project due diligence, coordination of geotechnical, environmental, biological & design
consultants, project entitlements, preliminary budgeting, site & building design coordination,
permitting, owner/contractor contract negotiation, subcontract buy-out & construction oversight.
Worked directly with owners, tenants & local jurisdictions to assure that all projects were
designed & completed in accordance with quality, budget and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities also included the management of a staff of up to fifteen project managers,
superintendents and administrative assistants. A key requirement of the position was the ability to
manage, motivate and oversee the development of the project management team and the
individual team members.
EXPERIENCE
Twenty years of construction experience including fifteen years with last employer. In addition
to public infrastructure projects (interchanges, sewer lift stations, storm water pump
stations/detention ponds, etc.), has completed nearly five million square feet of retail, office and
industrial development projects in Northern CA including oversight of construction projects
totaling in excess of $100 million in 2008. Extensive work with state agencies and local
jurisdictions to gain entitlements and permit approvals. Can lead a team of project managers and
design consultants from project conception through to completion of a final set of design-build
documents that assure both budget and aesthetic requirements are met.
NOTABLE PROJECTS
Attorney Generals Building, 1300 I Street, Sacramento, CA: Seventeen story design/build
project for the State of California including 381k SF of tenant improvements for the Attorney
General, the Office of the State Architect, the Arts Council & the Medical Assistance
Commission. Project also included a five (5) floor post tensioned parking garage and a
commercial kitchen & dining facility. Eighteen (18) month construction schedule. $45 million
construction cost (1994).
Promenade at Sacramento Gateway, Sacramento, CA: 90 acre, 660,000 SF design/build retail
development project. Managed a team of designers, project managers, administrative and field
staff to insure on-time and on-budget completion of the project. Project included approximately

60 power center and lifestyle retail tenants. Project also included new public streets, a sewer
interceptor & lift station, plus an onsite storm water detention pond & pump station facility.
Completed December 2006. Construction cost: $75 million.
Gateway Corporate Center at Sacramento Gateway, Sacramento, CA: Two 3 story 120,000
SF office buildings adjacent to the Promenade retail power center. Once the certification process
is complete it is anticipated that Gateway Building B will be certified at the LEED Silver level.
Managed the entitlement, design and oversaw the buyout and construction. Completed December
2008. Construction cost: $25 million.
Opus Logistics Center, Arch Road, Stockton, CA: 475 acre Industrial project with an ultimate
build-out of 8 million SF. Phase 1 began in November 2007 with two speculative warehouse
buildings totaling 1.2 million SF, along with street improvements. Completed December 2008.
Construction Cost: 45 million.
Temperature Controlled Distribution Center, Stockton, CA: 750,000 SF. Ground-up 3rd party
BTS warehouse distribution center for international grocery chain. Included 250k SF cooler area
along with a 75k SF freezer box. Fast track design & construction schedule. Completed April
2009. Design & Construction: $55 million. 15 months from conceptual design to completion.
Worked closely with owner/tenant to incorporate numerous pre & post permit plan revisions
while still maintaining completion date & meeting target budget that was locked in during the
conceptual design phase.
Rocklin Corporate Plaza, Rocklin, CA: A 13 acre 240,000 SF two building design/build Class
A office project completed in November 2007. Construction cost: 22 million.
Opus Corporate Center, Roseville, CA: Two 96,000 SF, three-story Design/Build Class A
office buildings. Responsibilities included: pre-purchase due diligence, coordination of design
consultants including owner & local jurisdictional design review approvals, budgeting,
permitting, subcontracting, construction coordination and project closeout.
Broadstone Plaza Retail Center, Folsom, CA: 360,000 SF Design/Build retail power center on
40 acres. Ten major tenant buildings, plus five multi-tenant shop buildings and associated site
improvements. Combination tilt concrete & metal framed construction. Responsibilities included
complete project management from entitlements through construction completion including
design management, permitting, subcontracting and tenant & owner coordination. Completed in
2 phases (2000 & 2001). Construction cost: $35 million.

Bayside Distribution Center, Hayward, CA: 343,000 SF warehouse project on 17.5 acres.

Opus Technology Center, Fremont, CA: 175,000 SF R&D facility on 14 acres.
Greenville Business Center, Livermore, CA: 375,000 SF warehouse project on 20 acres.
