PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH/STUDY
Credentialing Fees: 2005
Objective: research credentialing fees, establish pros and cons of imposing fees.
Research paper was written and included the 2004 and 2005 EKL Medical Staff Department credentialing activity: the
number of credentialing and re-credentialing files reviewed in the past two years, the expense incurred for each file the
average cost per month and year the department spends for credentialing and re-credentialing. The study obtained feedback
on fees from all surrounding hospital and compared the fee of private facilities to those maintained by state funds.
CVO’s: 2006
Objective: research Credentials Verifications Offices, pros, cons, requirements, and services.
Research paper written and defined the CVO concept. The study conducted detailed the benefits, the complications
involved with, the JCAHO standards in relation to CVO’s and the scope of services. The research defined the
credentialing process using a CVO as opposed to the process conducted in a standard medical staff office.
